Borders and test motif…….

The borders are on and the idea for the quilting motif, I think, will work out just fine. The full design will fit in the whole white squares and just the hearts will look good in the half-square triangles along the sides, top and bottom. I will definitely get some practice in using Leah Day’s pattern. I wouldn’t have done this practice pattern quite this way if I hadn’t these quilts coming up that need immediate attention. “Jumping in with both feet” has been mentioned in previous posts and really does seem to, once again, be the choice!!

So looking forward to see the finished article. I think it will look fantastic. Something you will be really proud of having made. My machine and I are not THAT close, unless I am making clothes and plain quilts. I have yet to machine quilt anything. My abstract quilt will be the first. I will take some inspiration from you and Avis.

I am really curious to see how much time this takes. The little quilt project that started this was done in weekly increments as we followed Leah’s directions but with this, and the fact that the design has been altered to fit each area……..well, it will be interesting. A little “self talk” will be needed to keep going, I think!! Thanks for stopping by. Hugs, Doreen

What a clever way to use Leah’s wholecloth design – it looks so pretty. Thankyou for the encouraging post on my blog. I’m progressing – have outlined the design and today will microstipple!

When I began the micro stippling my first thought was “did I make a major mistake thinking I could do a larger project with this!?!”. I made up a small whole cloth (to the specs that Leah suggested) and am doing that and really loving it… far! Will let all know how the larger quilt goes….it’s 40″ sq. and has enough multiples of the design that I should have it “down pat” by completion!! Thanks for the visit! Am so glad Leah gave us all this opportunity to connect!! Hugs, Doreen

I just finished my ‘quilt on the line’ for Leah’s whole cloth quilt and I feel like I’m becoming a master (not there yet). You will be a master after doing this whole quilt! It’s going to look great. ~Jeanne
