This past weekend was a busy one. Preparations for the demo on micro-stippling (to be done during the Festival of Quilts last Saturday in Spring Grove,MN) was done in earnest last Thursday and Friday. The car was loaded and off I trekked early Saturday morning. The Fall colors were incredible with the sun bringing out the bright yellows and oranges! I just had to stop and take a couple of pictures along the route.
With no traffic and the scenery “picture perfect”, it was going to be difficult to be indoors for the next 8 hours!!
The Fest Building was busy with the last minute set-up and finishing touches that made the event a “first-class” affair. Following are some of the pictures I took that day. Included, is one of myself as I “micro-stippled” my day away…….really the best—sewing and sharing! More on some of my conversations with on-lookers in my next post. Til next time………..
Wow. Those quilts are incredible. I won’t even choose a favorite because I can’t decide.
There are so many more pictures I took but I hate to load my readers down with too many!!! I couldn’t choose a favorite either!!!
Sounds like a great day – and the quilts are beautiful. Can’t wait to hear more.
Check in tomorrow/Tuesday;-D
BEAUTIFUL!!!!!
Fun……and so much skill/talent!!
He-he! I could sew all day too 🙂 In fact I could do with a few more hours in each day. Gorgeous quilts Doreen. Thanks for sharing 🙂 Avis x
You are so welcome! So much talent ‘out there’ (yourself included!!!). Thanks for stopping in/by! Hugs, D
Doreen — Wonderful pictures — always nice to see everyone else’s work.
Congrats on the quilting — not me — breaks required for this ‘ole Gramma!!
Hugs,
Karen
I have found that there is some conditioning needed for me to do it for any length of time but, even more important, the chair height and slight elevation for my feet are critical!! No residual effects! LOL!
wonderful pretty quilts! I couldn’t quilt all day if I tried!
DH thought I was joking when I told him, before I retired, that I could spend the whole day in my sewing room and come down for supper……..he believes me now! These last couple of months, though, have been spent at the RV primarily. A little hand work/hexy sewing/cutting has been all I have done. Hope to get back to the indoors soon. Happy October!!!
Wonderful quilts! Did you get to go outside during your breaks? I admire you for spending the day micro-stippling. I enjoy micro-stitching but only for an hour or so at a time. Sounds like a great week-end! ~Jeanne
Oh, Jeanne…..I am so ‘hooked’ on that technique that I had to be asked if I was going to take a lunch break!!! Otherwise….nope, no breaks! The next day (Sunday) was entirely outside in the gorgeous sunshine (we desperately need rain however!!!!!). More on the demo tomorrow……..hugs, D
What a lovely quilt show! And you’re so cute demo’ing the micro stipple!
Tee hee……thank you so much for the sweet comment/compliment. After the 8 hours, though, I felt I had ‘aged’ somewhat! LOL!
That’s enough to age anyone! LOL!
Got that right %–}
Looks like a great weekend. How did your demo go?
The demo went great…..am already planning next year’s! Check out tomorrow’s post! Thanks for stopping by and have a great beginning of the week/month——-OCTOBER…….YIKES!!!!!
