Quilters arise!!!!……….

“Sandy’s” impact has been reinforced by the additional storms that have dealt the East Coast blow upon blow. The pleas for help have gone out in the form of moneys needed by various organizations, food supplies, housing and various skilled help to restore needed infrastructure. I have watched all this and felt somewhat helpless in my desire to help……but how????? Well, here is one way for those of us who love to sew, have a stash, and, of course, have residing within such caring hearts. Erin, over at My Patchwork Life is requesting a very simple thing……..that we send her blocks (Disappearing 4 Patch) and she will put them together and see that they become quilty fabric hugs of love for those suffering such incredible loses!! If you feel drawn to participate, by making 1 block or a dozen, run (do not walk!) over to her blog where you will find the complete tutorial for the making of the block and how to get them to her. It is such a little thing that, when put all together, will mean world’s of encouragement to many. I know I can count on you all! Blessings and hugs……..

I love it and the idea.

  2. That’s so great! I love how, somehow, really everyone can be involved in the healing.

Thanks for posting about this! Have I already sent you my mailing address? (I can’t remember to whom I’ve sent it these days.) If not, email me and I’ll send it along, as you are set as a noreply commenter on Blogger. And I just noticed, you ride a motorcycle?? I rode for 11 years after college until I had my second child. For now, no time, but I am maintaining my license because, once they are out of the house, I’m buying another one. I miss it SO MUCH!

  4. What a wonderful and worthy project to uplift those on the East Coast who are suffering. Be sure to show us what you create before you drop those patches in the mail.
