Early Design Wall………

On Friday I posted that Erin (My Patchwork Life) was collecting disappearing 4-patch blocks that she will be putting together for quilts for the storm victims on the East coast. She is “spearheading” this endeavor and this block is so easy to make that 25 blocks later…..I have my design ‘wall’ filled with these………..Once I got going and developed my assembly routine, I just purred right along!! Any others willing to take the challenge?? One, or ???, all will be put to good use.  The directions are simple and will help in your “stash busting”, too!! How can you lose?? I know you will do what your heart tells you. Blessings……….

There are hundreds of quilts being sent to those affected by Sandy……amazing quilters’ hearts. If you go to Erin’s most recent post it will give you an idea of quantity!!!! And, yes, my fat mailer made it there safely!!!

Since your Bernna 440QE is being neglected-wanna’ sell it?

    • treadlemusic says:

Sorry, no. That machine is the only one I have that does the required stitches needed for bridal/formal wear alterations that I do once in a while. I have already found a new home for another Bernina that I owned but thank you so much for stopping by for a visit!!! Blessings and hugs, Doreen

You were one busy lady! Agreed..they were simple and fun to make. My two pale by comparison! 😉 But my granddaughter made one and my aunt made one and she’s taking it to her little quilting group tomorrow. I’m soooooo glad we were all able to help in some small (and in your case, not so small!) way!

25??? Wow! I look forward to receiving those beauties and getting them into quilts. My guild has been wonderful about taking a set of blocks to assemble, and they took everything I had this Saturday!

Oh! That’s wonderful!!! How many go into 1 quilt??? They were so much fun to put together and your directions were great……they came out “spot on”!!!!! Blessings, Doreen

Wonderful Doreen. I hope I can find some time this week to make at least one. You put me to shame.

    • treadlemusic says:

I never mean to do that!! I have always had the label of “over achiever”……setting the ‘bar’ for myself quite high. I am my own worst competitor!!! LOL! I pray you have an awesome week!!! Hugs, D

  8. I am just delighted that you showed us what you created. All that yellow just seems so right to bring cheer. You have such a good, good heart.

    • treadlemusic says:

Those are such kind words (smile)! I am always reminded that “to those much is given; much is expected” and I am so richly blest that I feel under compulsion to respond. Thank you for stopping by, Dear Friend, Hugs, D

Reblogged this on Ruthie quilts! And quilts… and commented:
Check out the amazing blocks that Doreen made!!! It was her blog that inspired me to get off my dufus! LOL!

Wow Doreen! You went to town!!! My flimsy 2 were inspired by you!!! I have so many comittments, I just can’t seem to find time to do them all! You are my hero!!! Hugs!

You rock girlfriend! Those look great!

Thanks!! Those were a lot of fun to make. I saw another variation that I want to do right away that ends up with a small pinwheel in the center……my next QOV. I just need to get the current one quilted–sitting next to Ms. Sweetie. However, work beckons (at the pharmacy) for every day but Wed. next week….puts a ‘crimp’ in my sewing time!! LOL!
