Ya never know……..

Each morning, one of the first things I do is peek out our livingroom  window to see what’s happening in ‘bird land’. The last couple mornings…..guess who’s come for breakfast?!? This little fella(?) seems to have settled right in and become part of the “family”……..IMG_2926

I tried for a photo yesterday but my movement was observed and the result, of course, was immediate flight. Our neighbor raised Ring Neck Pheasants for release up until a few years ago. Ever since then, the population has done quite well…in spite of the spike in the coyotes in this area (and other critters who find these beauties so delectable). So, for now, we will enjoy the feathered diversity we are being blessed with!IMG_2925IMG_2928

Have a wonderful day and be sure to take the time to smell the roses……er…..look out your window to see what wondrous things are in your world!! Blessings……

beautiful Pheasant – never see them here – I think they live here too but you never see them

  2. Pheasants are just so beautiful. I’m going into the outside world right now to shovel snow. Brrrr. Better bundle up, huh?

Have never seen a pheasant under our feeders, though we do occasionally see one in the valley. It’s always a joy to look out the window and discover another new species at one of the feeders or suet cages.

These really are pretty birds… We used to have several in a field near here!

  6. Very nice! We had a pheasant in our garden for a few days last winter. I think it heard my daughter comment that he would make a nice casserole! The next day he was gone. I wonder why?? Avis x
