the “Moore Love” donation was one of the topics covered in my post at the beginning of June (found here). This delightful piece was on my machine today. To refresh your memory, this is what it looked like at the time of the previous post……
And here are some photos of today’s progress:
I did mark portions of the design (with wash-away marker), for placement, using parts of some stencils I borrowed. The floral/bunny areas have some thread sketching/outlining of the flowers, leaves, etc. I am using Aurifil thread in a pale yellow (wonderful to work with!) and will switch to another color (not sure what, yet!) to do some color accent areas. So far, I’m leaning towards a small loopy leaf pattern on the pink outer border. We’ll see. I’m planning on completing the stitching tomorrow and squaring it so it’s ready for the binding on Friday afternoon. Friday morning will be “fill in” hours at the pharmacy. This quilt will be a donation to the “Moore Love” project (see button on sidebar) organized by the Oklahoma City Modern Quilt Guild for those who have suffered so much during the storms/tornadoes earlier this Spring. All quilt donations and $$$ need to be in their hands by June 30th so there’s no time to waste!!!
A beautiful 81F sunny summer evening here in S.E. MN. Now, off to relax after a wonderful stitching day. Hugs…..
This is tremendous! I love what you are doing. The quilting really adds something special. Nice work!
Thanks so much, Steph! It was such a joy to complete and I hope to do some more very soon.
Your work is not at all surprising because you bring out your best everytime. Be A Blessing because you’re Blessed. Mtetar

Very clever machine quilting!!
And it was a lot of fun!!!!
You have such a sense of design! Everything looks exactly like it belongs and is so nicely done! ~Jeanne
Thanks so much, Jeanne. This is one quilt that will be difficult to see leave!!!!!
Love the pattern you chose to quilt in the center of the panel. We went to the band concert down at the lake with mike and Georgia tonight. It was just beautiful sitting outside with no mosquitos and listening to the music.
These are fabulous days/eves! Glad you got a chance to enjoy the music! I’m sitting out on our front porch as I post this…..lovely!! The quilt is done and ready for shipping. Check out the next post!
nice post, hope is really something we cannot afford to loose, hugs!!!
You are so right! Life is very difficult w/o it. Hugs……
The hearts you’ve stitched into the design are perfect. You always put so much thought and love into every single quilt you create. You truly do amaze me with your ability to continually make new quilts, and each quite different. God has gifted you with this talent and that you can share that gift via donations such as though to the Moore project is a bonus blessing for all involved.
Thank you. I pray for whomever will receive this that it will convey “hope” and that there are people who are praying for their long road of recovery. I have not experienced such so cannot begin to imagine their situation. It seems like so little but it is something. I have always thought of quilts as cozy hugs, so it is so appropriate to send. Hugs……
A cozy hug and prayers. Perfect.
Yup!
