This has been in a “holding” pattern for a couple of months. The larger quilt group I attend will be giving several more of these QOV (Quilt of Valor) at a gathering in September and this one will be among them so I needed to quilt it and get it back to the gal who pieced it so she could finish putting the binding and label on the quilt. The pattern is “Twist and Shout”, a workshop our group did a while back and whose pattern I made available here. The quilting is my favorite “swirl” motif.
And a little peak at the back……..
’Til next time and more ‘quilty’ goings-on…………..
Those are some great fabrics for a QOV!
Yes. The gal who did this top is a ‘whiz’ at putting together what ‘works’!!!
I love the way you quilted it!!! Perfect! You are so generous with your time and talent my friend!
I try (as do you, my friend!!) but I seem to have a lack of time (energy??) but not of projects (of all kinds!!!)!!!!! LOL!
Funny how there are always more projects to do than time to do them in…
;-b
i remember when you shared this pattern. I put it in my favourites. Haven’t made it yet, but I will at some point in the future. You’re doing a great job Doreen. There’ll be some very happy and grateful recipients, I’m sure. Do any of your quilts go to ladies? Avis x
Yes they do, actually. Many quilts that have been given have gone to returning gals/Moms. We have found that they make the same choices as the guys (for color preferences). When the quilts are given, if possible, they are allowed to choose which quilt they would like…..usually more than are needed are available to be given.
I love those swirls… your stitches are so consistent too….
It all makes for a lovely quilt ….
Hugz
Thank you! Even-ess of the pattern across the top has been a bigger challenge than I ever thought it would be. I can see the advantage of have a frame set-up and being able to see the “whole picture” as it’s being stitched. As with the entire process/craft, I’m getting better with more practice!!! Thanks for dropping by! Blessings…..
Great pattern! the quilt looks awesome! And your swirls look great!
Thank you! Have an awesome day!!! Hugs………
Beautiful and Original!!!
That gal’s piecing is a joy to quilt!!!
🙂 talent!!
yup!
Amen to that “Pledge of Allegiance” fabric in this quilt. It’s perfect.
And the gal made sure she cut it so it can be read in that little border all the way around the quilt!! So cool!!!
I just heard on the radio this a.m. that Jimmy Kimmel featured a segment where he asked people to recite the Pledge of Allegiance. Do you think they could? Not. While in elementary school, my classmates and I started our day by reciting the pledge.
That quilter is one smart gal.
Just like the rest of us!!! Hehehehe! And just as it should be for the whole of America (ALL who call themselves ‘Americans’!!!)!
