Gearing up……..

Wha-a-a-at!!!!???!!!! Please, tell me! Who of you “out there” has been in “geared down” mode???!!!!! We are staring straight into the face of September, folks. Yes, end of summer, State Fair (MN), school starting, getting back to more quilting/cool weather endeavors……..wait! Heat index of 105F possible for the next week+! Yikes! Enough! A/C getting a workout until further notice…..for sure!!!

As you all know, quilting is my passion/obsession but, once in a while, I succumb to other needlework and this looked to be a very interesting CAL (Crochet ALong). If you’re interested in checking it out/following along, it can be found here. There’s a YouTube of the rib stitch, which we’re to be practicing so that we could do it “in our sleep”. Well, I haven’t gotten to that point but it definitely is an interesting stitch. Here’s a photo of my practice piece…..002    Yes, it appears to be knitted but is crochet, done with the ribbing (horizontal) and then turned so that the ribbing is vertical resembling a knit piece. So clever! So pop over to Daniellajoe’s blog to see the direction we will be taking this.

Now, I must go quilt! Happy Monday!!!!!

Yessss…I am definitely guilty of slowing s bit but have six projects picked out to sew for holidays. Small though they may be (table toppers) those along with another quilt or two must get done. Temperatures here still in mid-upper 90’s but humidity has made it almost unbearable. I’ve sent a granddaughter off to college, another 2 off to high school for first time and youngest one to Kindergarten!

  2. This definitely does look like a knitting project. Easier than knitting, right, for those of us who found knitting to be challenging. Once upon a time I crocheted. Just like once upon a time I sewed.

    Stay cool.
