Catching up…….

As many of you know, who have been following my jottings, I/we have just returned from the Northern Black Hills of South Dakota. Our reasons, this time, were many and varied. The quilt show in Hill City is always a highlight (and it didn’t disappoint…..but that is a story for another post). This time, I was fortunate enough to do a trunk show/micro-stippling demo at my fave quilt shop in the hills: The Bakery Fabrics. It’s location in downtown Belle Fourche is a delight! The historic building, once home to a local bakery, has been transformed into a quilters’ heaven! Annie carries fabrics to touch every sewer’s heart. A quick photo tour. 474477

Let me introduce you to Annie…..472

How I wish we had shops even one quarter as wonderful as that one. I am sure you did enjoy giving a demonstration to ladies who love to quilt. What a great way to spend part of your vacation.

I wish you had access to such, also. Annie’s ability to choose such a variety of beautiful fabric is a gift. The appeal is very wide. Lin, I’m so glad you stopped for a visit!!! Hugs…..

That shop is a quilter’s paradise… But the name of the place is odd, is it a bakery too??

    • treadlemusic says:

It was when it was built and Annie bought it, quite a few years ago, and had a coffee shop in it at first. This was long before coffee shops were popular. Then she turned it into the shop it is today. The displays/bolts are tucked in some of the baking equipment that remains (like the gigantic mixer). The wood cabinets in the first room are original and so gorgeous!!!!!
