I just love………..

Early Christmas presents!!!!!! Each year DH and I tell each other……we don’t need anything so no need to do an exchange between us. Well, each year I’ve kinda ignored that. This year, DH ignored it and this is my beautiful new quilt display ladder………Quilt ladder 002

Made of beautiful oak without so much as one screw. Made/held together with pegs…..so sweet……..and works so much better than the traditional quilt rack. Thank you, Dear!!!!!! One more photo………………………Quilt ladder 001

He couldn’t hide the making of it for long as he needed to work in the warmth of the basement rather than the shop area in the unheated garage.

A little present wrapping on the agenda and…….well, still some ideas, but maybe next year…………..Til next time……..

ladder 001Edit: There was a question as how the pegging was done. A drill created the correct sized holes through the side rails using a drill press. DH, then, placed the rung, clamped it in place and drilled into the rung. The peg/holes were glued, the peg pounded in and the whole thing was clamped til dried. I hope this is somewhat clear. I am not a woodworker (wood is too un-forgiving!!!! I prefer fabric!!!). The ends appear more discolored than they really are, but I chose the best camera view.

I think so, too! We had seen an example of this at the quilt shop we visited in York, ME, but it was so much narrower (would need to fold the quilt so much) but DH really looked it over……very well, I guess!!! LOL!
