Pin basting………..

Thank you for your continuing interest in my random jottings!!! It is something that was to be a sort of journaling process for me but quickly grew into the most marvelous friendships!! I love you all!!!!! Now, on to the question at hand. I use the Sharon Schamber method of basting my quilts. This method works whether you quilt on a DSM (domestic sewing machine) or a sit-down mid-arm (HQ Sweet Sixteen, Babylock Tiara, etc). This method eliminates the need to crawl on the floor(!) to lay out and pin together the 3 layers prior to the fun part!! Rather than re-invent the wheel, so to speak, I will merely refer to a post I did almost a year ago outlining, with words and photos, how I go about this. The post is here and, hopefully, will answer some of the questions you have.IMG_2813

The above photo is one from the linked post mentioned earlier. I have pin-basted from the left (in the photo) and am just coming up on the final section. Please, refer to the original post for more details and, if there are further questions, you may comment here or send me an e-mail.

Our New Year’s Eve will be a snowy one, here in S.E. MN. Since we really haven’t been ones to head out on this night to PARTY (LOL!), we will be joining others in our community at an annual supper gathering at a small country church located not too far from us. I pray you have a good evening, and a safe one, and come back to join me in 2014 to see what is in store.

Wishing you all His best for you in 2014!!!!! Hugs…………..

  1. That gathering at your country church sounds marvelous. We attended New Year’s Eve worship services, stopped at the grocery store to pick up ham for today’s dinner and then vegged out until 11 p.m. No ringing in the new year at midnight.

Wishing you God’s continuing blessings in 2014, dear friend.

Happy New Year to you and Tom, just back from dinner and dessert with Mike and Georgia. It’s darn cold out there tonight, glad to be home early. If I was drinking I’d toast to friendships and good health in the coming year!
