Another QOV quilted……………..

This is the first of 2 waiting to be stitched and returned to the gals who pieced them so that the binding may be added. The, rather modern, stitching pattern allowed me to work with some of the “issues” that existed with the top. There is a lot of work in this top and will make someone quite happy, I’m sure. Sharing a few photos (with my ever faithful “quilt holder”/aka DH)…………QOV..Nancy's 003

The thread used was “Marathon” 30wt poly…color #2276… on the top. The bobbin thread was Connecting Thread Essential Pro poly…….color Natural. Both stitch beautifully with no lint build up at all.

One more QOV (quilt of valor) to sandwich and quilt. I ran out of basting pins last week, so will be pin-basting in the morning.

Til next time……………………………..

  1. So I’m looking at that star stitching, wondering, “How does Doreen do this?” My head would be spinning as I tried to navigate that puzzle of sewing stars. As always, a beautiful work of art that will be appreciated and that honors those who serve.

Love the “star” design in your quilting, so appropriate for the patterns in the fabrics. You always do a great job blending the quilting design to the fabric designs, very artistic.

Your quilting looks great on this quilt.

It is certainly different from the ones you usually quilt. I like your straight line and angle quilting, it is the right design for this top.The red and blue ‘firework’ fabric would be perfect in lots of colours all over a quilt. Must have a look out for something on those lines.

That fabric has a metallic spattering over it and really adds to the impact of the print. I do think I’ll have to change my machine needle after going through it so many times!! LOL! I don’t do ‘angle’ stitching much but I, also, thought it worked quite well!!!!!! Hugs to you………………………..

A very unique quilt that could be put amongst the memorabilia of July 4th, Memorial Day, and Veteran’s Day. I won’t mind having a Lap Quilt of this pattern, or at least the scraps, LOL. Blessings, Mtetar

This looks like Americana, very rustic and pretty 🙂
