We are minus 19 and minus 44 with wind chill right now. Good day to stay inside and redecorate but the containers are in the garage which means moving cars out to get to them……..brrrrr. Stay warm, my friend.

7.8 here and might still go down a degree or two – fireplace was going all night and the temp is ok in the house but not quite what it normally is – heat pumps are horrible in extreme cold weather no matter how hard they work they can’t quite keep up

I hear ya on the heat pump thing (a friend has the same set-up). Our wood stove seems to be doing well. It is outdoors, though, and DH has to go out to fill it now but it held from 10:00 last night. Quilting and baking bread today!!!! Hugs….

  3. Teje says:

Hi Doreen, you would need much more my NEW leg warmers than me! We have about +15 C. I hope you can stay inside snuggling with a lovely quilt! x Teje

  4. Lynda says:

That is too cold! We’ve been upgraded from 14 with an overnight of 4 deg. to 16 with an overnight of 6 degrees. OH BOY, were saved!!! LOL!

Hope you are able to stay in, Doreen.

  5. Minus 22 here this a.m. with a minus 47 wndchill.

I caught that “how to take a screenshot.” My son-in-law taught me how to do screenshots at Christmas. I wrote down all of the instructions.

Seriously… it is way beyond my pea brain thinking about how cold some paces are getting…. stay warm and safe!

  8. Jackie says:

I’m not complaining…’s winter right 🙂 If anything I would like a little snow to go with this cold 🙂
    Stay warm friend!

I/we definitely would appreciate a bit more snow cover. In the country, there are so many things that can go awry in this weather. One is frozen water pipes (which is what DH just left to deal with at our son/DIL home up the drive. Need to make sure that the well pump doesn’t burn out trying to pump nothing!!!!). Rural living has a multitude of challenges. When we lived in the Twin Cities we didn’t give this type of weather a thought!!!!!

      • Jackie says:

Oh the things that us city people take for granted, hope all goes well for DH and your son’s well pump :/

        • treadlemusic says:

DIL got a huge container of water from us last eve. DH will place a large heater in the crawl space under their house (double wide trailer). Hopefully that will thaw things out. Then we’ll find out if the pump burned out at some point. You’re so right…….since moving to this rural setting I/we have learned so much. DH and I were born/raised in the Mpls/St. Paul Metro……no farm background!!!!!!

  9. Oh my word……. That is cold!
Here it is too warm for winter. Flowers are popping up already.
