And the Finish………..

To yesterday’s post. Some loopy funky flowers and a bit of ruler work, squared up and done!! Wonderfully bright, vibrant, summery and warm!!!!!!!! JoAnn's Modern 003  The colors aren’t quite this ‘golden’ but I love the warmth of this photo as the sun comes in through the window and streams across the quilt.

And to finish, a full length photo of the completed quilt, held by my every faithful DH Quilt Holder!!!!!!JoAnn's Modern 004

The stitching done in the floral areas really is not super visible but the texture is amazing!!! I thoroughly enjoyed this more ‘mod’ look and will be looking for ways to use it in the future…..for sure!!!! The thread used in the top is a German brand called Rheingold in ‘copper’. It’s 40wt poly and has a lovely sheen. It’s by Madeira Thread Co. and I had picked this cone up while shopping at Knight’s Quilt Shop, in Maine, last October. The bobbin, once again, is Connecting Threads Essential Pro poly in ‘natural’.

Now, let me see what’s next……………………..

Love the flowers…so cute. Also like the design of the quilt as it’s something new for a change. Not a “mod” person on quilts, but this one has some personality. Stay warm. Thanks for infor on how long you quilt daily as I often wondered myself.

You expressed my thoughts, too!! I’m not really immersed in the ‘mod’ quilt thing but merely getting my toes wet!!! This quilt is really my first and, I too felt, it bridges the gap between two styles of quilting beautifully and is appealing to a very wide audience. You’re very welcome….I’m always happy to answer any questions you may have!!!!!!!! Hugs………….

  2. This is looking awesome! I love how you took the inspiration from the main print fabric. Lovely quilting and quilt pattern.

Your words are so sweet!!! Each quilt certainly comes with its own personality just waiting to be helped along with the quilting stage of the process……I’m just “opening the door” so it might show itself!!!!!! Hugs……………

Love the texture and how you incorporated the fabric motif into the quilting.

  4. I love the quilted squares. To me, they are like shattering glass! Another beauty Doreen 🙂 Avis x

All I have to say is………I LOVE IT. The quilt , the quilting and the colours. Another fabulous art work with fabric and thread Doreen.

Lovely as always. I spent the afternoon making cards and you were probably quilting your heart out. The hoarfrost today was amazing but I am over winter already. Spring wherefore art thou?

    • treadlemusic says:

Yup…..you got that right!!! I hope your card making went well. My piecing was/is a bit of a challenge. Working exclusively from my stash so as I cut I’m using up fabrics before I’m done with some of the cutting!!!! It’s a pinwheel pattern that I did a workshop on a while back and will be a quiltt for great grand, Paige.
I am so over with winter……..and I haven’t even been outside that much—–qult focused (for my mental health!!!!!).

This is a lovely piece. I love the busy floral background with the big chunky blocks going down the length of the quilt. Beautiful colors!

I love how you quilted this-very neat!

  9. mtetar says:

If you ask me I couldn’t tell the front from the back, both sides are beautiful even though I like the back the most. Blessings, Mtetar

  10. Here’s what I’d like to do: Wrap that quilt around myself and maybe those flowers will somehow convince me that summer isn’t afar and will brighten my mood.

I just love, love, love that fabric.

    • treadlemusic says:

Isn’t it a fun one???!!!! I totally agree with your fabric assessment!!!!! Hold the thought! Trees, etc covered in thick white frost this a.m. A portend of things to come this afternoon, I think!

I like the free-hand flower and that it’s different in each large block. Kudos to your dh for providing the Holding-Up Services, lol!

    • treadlemusic says:

I will pass along the “kudos”!!!! The flower was so much fun and so different from anything previous. I hope I get more of the ‘mod’ look tops to do!!!!! Thanks so much for coming by!!!!! Hugs……………………..

  12. CJ says:

FANTASTIC! I really, really like this look!

    • treadlemusic says:

Hey, there!!!! Thanks so much. A bit of a departure for me but I’ve been drawn toward the “mod” side lately (“Modern Quilting” mag. has been “drawing me in” these days!!!!!).
Rain/ice on the way for us today/tonight!!! That’s Arkansas weather………thanks(?) for sharing!!!!! LOL! Hugs…….

    Nicely done! Next.

    • treadlemusic says:

Working on finishing up quilt tops at the moment and will be starting the last client quilt. I ordered a curved quilter’s rule that’s due to be here today and am anxious to work with it….thoughts of a curved grid pattern.

  14. LB says:

May I just ask … how many hours a day do you work on quilting? I know it’s a labor of love …
