Sunny and blue skies now, but………

Earlier our landscape was receiving another 6” blanket of white stuff……….Leah's Valentine, snow, Stained Glass 037

And one more……………….Leah's Valentine, snow, Stained Glass 034

These photos are my feeble attempt to balance out the beautifully floral pictures from my friends “down under” and other such locales. Tomorrow we are to be in the balmy low to mid 30’s F. Hang on….the roller coaster is still in motion……………………….

I think you guys got just a little bit more then us here in Rochester. It was a winter wonderland when I woke up this morning…so pretty 🙂

  2. Jeanne says:

The snow looks pretty thru the window. We got hit again today too. Our forecast is similar to yours tomorrow then another polar vortex. Good time to stay home and quilt!

  3. Karen says:

well it is pretty and it won’t last forever although I’m sure it feels like it does – we have two more nice days then back to the 30’s and down to 20’s at night – it never ends does it.

  4. Thanks Doreen, I do love snow photos!!

    Wonderful pictures for January!
Here on the east coast of the US (northern Virginia), in the summer there is a saying “it’s not the heat, it’s the humidity”
Well, in winter, it is not just the cold and snow It’s the WINDY WIND. Oh my, the wind. That is my least favorite thing. The cold and snow I can deal with… mostly.
Stay warm, long live the heat inside! We received a whole inch this morning 🙂 ~ and the neighborhood kids were enjoying it haha

  6. Amazing, lovely scenery! Personally I could do without snow, but I sure love the look of crisp snow in the morning! Over here it is still a bit to warm for snow, but we will nearing freezing temperatures next week or so. Blah!

Yeah…….if it’s gotta be cold with moisture, I prefer the white kind with the sunny blue skies that follow. The dreariness of some locations would be hard to take after a while. My next project is off to a great start (just barely launched). Stay tuned……………….

It looks to me like the perfect excuse for a warm fire, some cinnamon rolls, and perhaps some handwork 🙂

    • treadlemusic says:

Well, it was perfect for machine-work w/o the sticky rolls and the fire is in the wood-fired outdoor boiler (where all the mess is, too!!!) but the warmth is in here…..lovely! LOL! So glad you stopped by!!!!!! Hugs…………..

We could do with anything to replace the rain. it has been wet and miserable since the end of November. Odd days of sun but the ground never dries. It sure is quilting weather here. .

I see what you’re saying! Pretty though

  10. Beth Ann says:

Lovely pictures, Doreen. We got a bit of snow but it is just covering the ice. Ugh. I am waiting for the first fall of the winter….

  11. Lots of snow shoveling in Faribault yesterday.

  12. LB says:

Jealous! No snow in Southwest Virginia … just cold. Darn!

  13. Thread crazy says:

Doreen – beautiful snow pics. Looks just a lovely winter wonderland. Nothing here in Texas but some roller coaster temps. It was 18 about a week ago for two days, then started warming up. We’re supposed to get cold again later this week and rain.

Your weather has been a bit more crazy than ours!!!! Today’s temps made it to the upper 30’s!!! The roads cleared nicely and the sun was lovely! Colder temps seem to be descending on all of us this week…….

Wow the snow looks so beautiful – I know you must be nearly over it at the moment as it has been so bad this year. Take care & keep warm.
