Such fun!!! This little (46”x 58”) client’s baby quilt has a farm theme and just begged for some appropriate silliness.
The above photo is of the flannel backing from Connecting Threads. It has a beautiful fuzzy loveliness that’s quite heavy. I kept the quilting quite open so as to not have it get too stiff. The finish is wonderfully cozy….
The top thread was Isacord (40 wt) color #1220 (Apricot) and the bobbin was Connecting Threads Essential Pro poly in “Honey”.
Til next time………for those in the Northern hemisphere ……..Spring will come!!!!
Love the chicken tracks!! That’s the perfect touch for the quilt.
And I was surprised that I didn’t tire of doing them during the whole process! They fill even the most awkward areas so nicely!!!!!!
Such fun! Chicken Tracks! You are so creative!
Hehehe! You are most generous…..some have used the word ‘weird’……LOL!
Very appropriate and thanks for the thoughts of spring. It can’t come soon enough.
Sigh…………you got that right!!!!!!
The perfect quilting again. Love those chicken tracks. The whole quilt is cute. The back will be so soft and warm for the little one.
That flannel was like the flannel of years ago…..very heavy and plush. That’s why the quilting had to be a bit more open so as not to make the quilt too stiff.
LOVE the chicken tracks!
Thank you so much……they are something so different than my ‘usual’!!! Hugs…………..
You’re just tooooooo inspiring when it comes to quilting and your fabrics are beautiful. It would be nice to receive some scraps from your lovely projects. Blessings, Always, Mtetar
Hmmmmm……..maybe………………hugs………
I do like that chicken scratch quilting.. what fun and perfect with that quilt…
Hugz
It is!!! Spent today cutting rectangles and sashing strips (your pattern). I think it will be perfect!!!!!!!! Thanks, again!!!!! Hugs…………….
I do like those chicken tracks!
They have their place, don’t they???? LOL!
Love that idea of chicken tracks….ha…so appropriate for this beautiful cozy quilt. Great job.
Thanks so much, kiddo!!!!!
That print is the cutest. Ever. Chicken feet seem absolutely appropriate for the design. Great idea, as always.
I’m glad you like it!!!!!! Hugs…………….
Especially since I don’t like chickens.
The best kind of chicken is on the BBQ!!!!!! Or eggs!!
Adorable!!! And very cozy looking!
The flannel backing was a perfect choice and the size is so practical……not too small so it is outgrown quickly.
The chicken tracks are perfect. The “Parade of Elephants” quilt will keep Baby Poppy warm. Born on Saturday morning. Her mother arrived in London with the quilt on Friday. Great timing.
I am thrilled with that one, too!! Glad to hear Baby is doing well in this new world! The ‘chicken tracks’ quilt was a sunny cheerful project that went way too quickly……because I enjoyed it so much I’m sure.
Wow! that is such a neat way to let the fabric speak. Enjoy your day.
And you, also!!!! You are certainly the busy one…..leaving me breathless!!!! LOL!
definitely a fun design, really like this one
It was a perfect “marriage” of piecing and stitching!!!! Fun!!!
I love it Doreen! Always fun to see the end result……the chicken tracks are perfect!
I am so glad!!!! Give me a call when you return and we can arrange the pick-up!!!! Hugs…….
