Don’t’cha just love it when you can say that???!!!! I first posted about these table runners here. Not only are they finished, but each has a set of 2 potholders/hotpads to go along with them. Some photos of the quilting process (and, yes, there are feathers!!!!!)……. Runner #1 (Front…….)
Runner #2 (Front………)
(Back……..)
Click on any of the photos for a better look. The “Gypsy” quilt fabric has been mightily depleted!!!! Just a few scraps for a future “string” quilt, perhaps!!!!! Yay!!!!! I used Isacord 40 wt poly thread on the top and Connecting Threads Essential Pro poly thread in the bobbin (‘zero’ lint!!!!!!).
Tomorrow, another finish!!!!! Til then………………………….

One comment / One Question:
I LOVE the back!!
Do you ever sleep?
🙂
Um…….yup and I dream (in color!!) of quilting ideas and bike rides (especially that second one lately!!!!!). LOL!
Love the feathers Doreen – you are so talented in doing those. I’m still struggling with mine…one of these times I’ll make it. Did you take a lesson or just practice? Whomever receives these table runners will be extremely pleased!
I watched videos and scrutinized Wendy Sheppard’s “Thread Talk” posts on her blog (Ivory Spring). I drew them a lot on a dry erase board. Another fabulous resource is Jamie Wallen’s YouTube videos (ex: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1yF0x83WM0w) Check it out. The angle you return to the spine is CRITICAL to the final look!!!!! Let me know if you have questions…….
That was fast! I am sure the recipients will absolutely love them. The Gypsy fabric is fabulous and just the thing to brighten up a snowy day!
Yes and we definitely added to the white stuff out there! About 5″!!!!! Yes…..another sigh!!!!
Fabulous. They make me smile so I will keep having a sneaky look at them. Those fabrics are wonderful together and rounded off with the feather quilting, what else could anyone wish for in such a thoughtful gift?
I hope the recipients feel the same way. I really love that “Gypsy” fabric combo, too!!!! Hugs……………..
Such fun colors! Your feathers are gorgeous!
Thanks so much, oh most quilty guru!!!!!!! Seriously, I thank you and so value your opinion!!!! Hugs…………….
They look great. Those bright colors will enrich any dreary day.
That is exactly what I’m hoping for!!!! It seems that even when the sun shines it’s so cold it qualifies as “dreary”!!!!!
What great gifts! And the quilting is wonderful. I’ll never tire of looking at your feathers!
I do love them, too, and hope I don’t get in a “rut” (doing them too much!!!) cuz they seem to be my “go to” stitching. I think I’ll have to join the FMQ stitch along that’s doing McTavishing (http://freemotionquiltingadventures.blogspot.com/2014/03/mctavishing-monday-free-motion-link.html ) Thanks so much for popping by and your sweet words. And remember…..Spring IS coming and so is DST (THIS weekend!!!!!)…yikes! Hugs……………
Feather heaven , that’s what you have created!
🙂
Hugs,
Esther
And it was as I was doing them…….so much fun!!!!!!
You’re finished with these already? Like you just started. I really do like this Bohemian style print. There’s something intriguing about the thought of being a gypsy. Well done, my friend.
They did go quickly, didn’t they! I am in love with that fabric mix. The color intensity and boldness is so vibrant and energizing………..and warm!!!!!!! LOL!
Exactly what we need right now–vibrant, bold and energizing.
Yup!!!!
Doreen the quilting is awesome.
Thank you, Friend. Reminds me of a certain table runner I did quite a while back!!!!!!!!
