That’s what a gathering of quilting friends is. Last Monday eve the smaller of the two groups I belong to met for a light supper and sharing time. It’s been quite a busy month for most of them. Here are a few photos of some of the finishes.
The quilt, above, is a gift for Lynda’s granddaughter. A beautiful 88”x88” quilt!!!! Lynda finished the quilting by renting longarm time.
Margaret made this little quilt and dressed the lovely doll in coordinating fabrics.
The above wallhangings, I believe, will be hung in the church JoAnn attends.
JoAnn showed some pillowcases she had made with the thought that they might be a good idea for student graduation gift ideas. She is a high school teacher in nearby LaCrescent, MN.
(Above) Almost a finish…..just the binding left to be handsewn.
(Above) Marilyn’s lovely quilt top. The smaller pinwheels are dimensional. I showed those here and in a finished quilt for G.G., here.
There were more beautiful finishes but this photographer got a wee bit too engrossed with watching the goings on and the camera remained in my lap!!!!
Til next time………………………………
The one second from the bottom (that just needed the binding sewn) really inspired me! It has jumped the line and I am working on some small quilts based on that design now!
That is such a great quilt for using precuts or stash fabrics (that gal is doing both). We all fell in love with the pattern……so simple!!!! Looking forward to seeing some photos!!!!! Hugs………………..
Thanks for sharing those beautiful pics; I always love to see what others are doing and the different styles of quilts. The doll quilt was cute. I missed seeing my ladies this past week (sick hubby) so looking forward to this next Tuesday…
Missing such gatherings really is a big “hole” in our lives, isn’t it??? I know that I really miss them!!!!! Sorry to ‘hear’ of hubbs illness!!! Hugs…………………………
I love looking at the quilts your group members make. They are always wonderful and give me so much encouragement to get going on the next project.
Yup……me, too! Inspiration PLUS motivation!!!!!!
Thank you for sharing your quilt club inspiration. What a lovely bunch of girls.
All of these projects turned out beautiful!
And most are gifts or will be donated!!! Quilty hugs on their way!!!!!
Soooo many proofs of time well spent. They’re all beautifully made. Blessings, Mtetar
“Playtime”!!!!!! LOL!!!! Hugs…………..
My goodness your sewing buddies have been busy!!
You got that right!!!! Keeps one on their toes!!! LOL! Hugs………..
What a great group! My small group has 9. Of the nine, three rarely quilt and two are prolific (even more than me!) The other three move along at their own moderate pace and share finishes from time to time. When we get together we have show-and-tell, of course. And then we just visit, some about quilting and some about the problems of the world. I enjoy it more every time, too.
The projects you show are wonderful. My favorite, no surprise, is the great star and log cabin quilt by Lynda. It certainly is easier to set an 8-pointed star than a 6-pointed one, for the symmetry. She did a great job.
She really did!!! And she did such a nice job on the quilting!!! So glad you’re in such a group, too. Hugs…………….
always nice to get out among friends isn’t it.
I so look forward to seeing the gals in both of the groups (each one is so different!!!). Thanks so much for stopping by and commenting!!! Hugs…………………
Lovely, as always. I’d like to learn more about those pillowcases. That seems like something I maybe could handle.
Audrey……I know you could do this!!! Here’s a YouTube video demo: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MrYWCma9wgM and a pdf to download: http://www.allpeoplequilt.com/millionpillowcases/instructions/RollItUp.pdf. They are super easy…really!!! And the purchased ones are so expensive!!!!!!! Great gift idea!!!!
I adore all of them. And I adore you!!!! A big big kiss.
🙂
