Of last eve’s quilt group gathering………..First, Lynda with a quilt made some time ago using a black fabric that has degraded/shredded over time. This is one of several she made using the black yardage that, we wonder, if the dye has “eaten” the threads. Check out the black cows….top row, left block and 2nd row, 2nd from the right block.
This quilt is a wedding gift for Lynda’s daughter…..an end of July wedding is planned. And the backing…………….
This next quilt, Joan picked up for $4.50 at a Minnesota Salvation Army store!!!!!!! “Rescued” would be a more appropriate word!!!
Her next “finds”…………. Quilting detail……..
Positively electrifying color!!!!!!
I quilted this quilt last January for Anita. The binding is now applied and she decided this one is a “keeper”!! There are more photos and details on my post here. It’s one of 2 kits of this design that she purchased from Connecting Threads. The blue/white combo is so classic!!!!!
Twyla has a crafting business and is always coming up with the most beautiful ideas! Here she combines her quilting with her fabulous painting talents. The flowers/centers are specialty buttons.
Carol (above) was along on last Monday’s quilt group trek and also was enamored of the Rapid Fire Hunter’s Star pattern. So, this week this is the result of her playing!!! Stunning!!!!
During the school year, JoAnn’s teaching responsibilities cut into her quilting/sewing time……but watch out come summer break!!!!!!! Some quilt tops that are currently in the works………………………(see above and below)…………
”Teacher’s Pet”, a ‘Take 5’ pattern.
That’s it for this month. Enjoy your days and quilt on………… Til next time…………………………………
What a wonderful collection of beautiful quilts. My favorite is that one (from the top 5th and 6th) which shows flowerers made from ties!
There are some lovely quilts amongst those but the one that truly grabs me is the Rapid Fire Hunter’s Star. It is stunning. I could imagine it in various two colourways, but I think Carol’s choice is amazing. The stars really pop.
I couldn’t agree more…..her choices were perfect. The pattern instructions give directions for doing it in the 2 colors or up to 4. We all agreed that more is not better in this case!
Many, many lovely quilts here! I love the “show and tell” portion of our quilt guild meetings–the variety and talent always amaze me. The idea of the fabric breaking down in the cow quilt is very scary, though!
We are totally mystified…..and alarmed…..by it. She said that it was fabric purchased just like any other good quilt fabric!!! We’ll never know, though. So glad you stopped by for a visit!!! Hugs…………………………….
Love the wedding quilt and the backing is so appropriate. Your group of ladies are so busy…and those “rescued” quilts are gorgeous. Wonderful quilts and so glad they found a good home.
We are all amazed at her acquisitions!!! She is like a “quilt magnet”!!!!!!!! LOL!!!
What a great array of quilts!
They are a busy group of gals………remind you of any other group?????? LOL!
I always love these show-and-tell sessions. Those “rescued” quilts were a steal. At least someone who really appreciates them found them.
And she does……..auctions, estate sales, etc. She is always on the look-out!!!!!
Lovely and creative. The peach 4-patches was a thrift store find?? I need to hang out in thrift stores more often!
Yesterday I met with my small group, too. It’s a funny group — of 9 of us, 4 do very little quilting. They rarely have anything to show for show-and-tell. But we love them anyway. 🙂
I totally relate!!! Quilting is merely a reason/common thread(?) for the gathering……friendships and relationships is the “key”!!!!!! Glad you enjoyed the post! Hugs……………..
