A quick photo recap…………

Of last Tuesday’s meeting of the LaCrosse Area Quilt Guild. The presentation was by a gentleman who will do laser cutting of any fabric for a specific quilt pattern. He advised that several gals do the same pattern as the set-up is the biggest chunk of the $$$ and once he has the folder he is able to cut up to 8 layers of fabric at a time. The above (“T’was the Night Before Christmas”) has 22 different colors in it!!!!! Yikes! It’s available as a kit. Didn’t ask the price.

I did an Edyta Sitar kit last year where all of the appliqué pieces (about 1000) were laser cut with the fusible on them. It was great to work with. I bet the guy was interesting to hear. Your groups always have great quilts – lots of inspiration! Thanks for sharing.

Several of the gals have used his services and have had him cut the leftover fabric into usable squares (2″, 3″, etc, whatever) and she added them to the totes she has designated for that size. The cost for that is very minimal. I’m not sure how that would compare to having a die cutter w/ appropriate dies.

Such beautiful works of art, so many talented ladies out there making quilts!

The show-and-tell is always my favorite portion of our quilt guild meetings, too! I love how people have such different visions!

What a group of beautiful work…love those quilts; especially that sampler quilt with the gold around the squares. Love it….I so enjoy traveling along with you to your group.

These groups are ‘addicting’. This is a new group I’ve joined. They are doing different styles of quilts from the more local groups near my home. I would love to find a modern group.
