A Stash may reveal…………….

So much. For example…….in 4 years, my taste/choices of fabrics have changed little. (I guess that’s why my stash is so very useful…as much today as it was when it came into being!! LOL!) Evidence of this was truly revealed to me when, a few moments ago, I was reading a comment left by Deb (of “A Simple Life Quilts”) on my post about the squishy package I received yesterday. She mentioned that the petal fabric was like the hydrangea  fabric that she still had in her stash from a while back. That reminded me of why these current buys looked familiar and appealed so much to me. Back in 2010 I made a quilt for my mom from the same line in the blue petal color-way!!!! See this post from last December where I used some of the leftovers for the cuff on a Christmas stocking I made for a gift for Leah…….yup……the same gal who will receive this next quilt!!!!!! So, off I went to dig through my stash totes once again and came up with the fabrics from that quilt gift of years ago (proof that I hang onto everything!)………001  Look familiar??? And here’s yesterday’s photo………..003

My recent purchase included the floral and green (top 2 on the right side) which are definitely the new line.

And, now, on to the cutting………………………………….

  1. 🙂 My stash has changed some but still carries my basic tendencies. The main change, probably, is it’s gotten somewhat larger (though still manageable) and a bit brighter and bolder. The main thing that’s the same is, it’s STILL FUN!!!

Do you want to hear something strange…I do so remember selling that very fabric at the shop!! lol…However you make it – It’s going to be beautiful! Yes, I too hold onto scraps as you never know when they will come in handy.

Too funny! I guess you really know what you like and stick to it!

  4. I need to look in my mom’s house next time I’m there to see if she has her fabric box. That would include lots of scraps from all my high school sewing projects. I used to sew nearly all of my clothes and dresses for my grandma, too.

My mom saves everything. So I’m sure this box of fabric is around.

    Glad you liked my runners!

Well, I do have some odd ball fabrics, but generally my tastes run in 2 directions……..peach/rust shades and pink/rose shades so I manage to pull quite a bit together from all of it. Today’s color sense seems to break more of the traditional rules thereby opening up many more possible combinations. Love that!!!!!!

Hmmm. I recognize some of those fabrics. Seems we have similar tastes in fabrics!

As the saying goes: Everything old is new again… Either that or: Keep it long enough and it comes back into style! LOL :o)
