A bit of a peek………….

At Leah’s piecing……..

Leah's Hydrangea Quilt 007

And a bit more……………………

Leah's Hydrangea Quilt 003

Not the whole picture yet!!!!! Plenty of room for some fun quilty stitching. The floral blocks with the triangle corners will have that bias edge rolled back like the “Cathedral Window” frame and hand tacked.

Now, off to piece the backing. The final size will be around 55”x 60”.

I kept it very simple as my friend’s eyesight is not super good. The quilting will probably have an “organic” feel…maybe some type of feathering swirled in w/ leaves/vines/pebbles. So many possibilities!!!!! Beautiful fabric, Annie!!!!!

  2. Wonderful colors — vibrant for old eyes.

Looks terrific. It does give you a chance to play with the quilting.

The colours compliment each other so well. Have fun quilting it. 🙂

Ideas are exploding. Spent time with my sketch book last eve. Still haven’t quite decided!!! It’s a very different piecing type than I’ve done before (other than the jelly roll strip quilt tops).

I look forward to seeing the result. Your quilting gives me ideas, thank you.

Well then…….stay tuned. I think it will have a vines and mini “half feathers”……..not too formal for the “garden-y” feel I want it to have. Have a wonderful weekend!!!!! Hugs…..

  5. Will be excited to see the final piece. I love how you take fabrics and work your artful magic.

While it may be a simple design, once you add your beautiful stitching it will be awesome. Yes her eyesight may not be as good these days, but she will be able to “feel” the life in the quilt. It’s going to be awesome!!
