Inspiration & motivation???………..

Quilt groups have many facets. They serve to instruct, critique, “push” our comfort zones, provide camaraderie and build relationships and friendships that wouldn’t otherwise happen due to the fact that life paths would probably not intersect.

Yesterday’s coming-together was just such a time and here are a few glimpses at what has been accomplished in the last month by these talented ladies……………001  ”Lottery Blocks” assembled into a top/’flimsy’.

002003 Awesome embroidery!!!!!!!

005 Carol’s “Rapid Fire Hunter’s Star”

006 “Shadow Box”

008 “Quilt-O” idea from Fons & Porter’s “Love of Quilting” magazine a couple of months ago, to be used at next Monday’s local quilt group gathering.

009 Stash busting….and, yes, that quilt is that bright!!!!!!!

011 012

015  Our resident rug hooker, Kathy, sharing one of her original patterns. The “KLM” are her initials!!!!!!

016019 018   Rosemary with her completed top and runner put together from the “Friendship” blocks we made for her (using the pattern she provided). This will be her bed quilt and was inspired by the framed needlework that hangs above her bed.

022 Framed needlework done by her mom.

026   A QOV donation.

028 029030 Recent ‘new-comers’/mother & daughter……both have caught the “quilting bug”, but Maria (daughter) has really taken off with it, helping with color choices and completing the black/white/red quilt herself. Mom treated her with having a long-armer  quilt it with puppy paws…… cute!!!!

032 This gal did a quick demo on the clever construction of this one. A specialty ruler was used.

037 Each of us makes one of these blocks to be added to the members’ banner that is displayed at our events.

038  Yes, this is a donation to the QOV program. Lots of beautiful piecing in this one!!! Kudos to Barb!!!!

That’s wraps it up for this month. Til next time………..

I love when you share your quilt club show and tell.
You have wonderful friends to encourage and share.
The butterfly looks like a larger simpler version of lace.
My mom made a lot of lace. All sorts.
all beautiful projects with striking results!

So many beautiful pieces but i have to say my favorites are the shadow box, and Maria’s black white and red quilt 🙂

I think it’s great that your group welcomes other craft work, not just quilts! Seeing the embroidery, wool work, and rug hooking is even more inspirational than all quilts!

Beautiful as always but my number one just has to be Rapid Fire Hunter’s Star made by Carol. Talk about stunning. It really pops and those points are perfection. Please tell her she has motivated me into designing a similar one.
All the quilts are so different and amazing. I think the paw prints on your new youngest member’s quilt will set it off very well.

I will definitely pass along your “kudos” to Carol. That one was “commissioned” by her hubby who chose that color combo and it, now, hangs on a wall in their living room. The paw prints were so perfect as this gal just loves dogs!!!!!

  9. Thank for sharing! This was really fun to see all the talents in your group!
    Happy Quilting!

Thank you, my Friend……my pleasure…always. More “R&R” lately than quilting but that will change after this week when DH & friend are gone to the Sturgis motorcycle rally. Quilting marathon will ensue!!!!!!! Hehehe..

Gorgeous quilts again. As an airline worker I learned that KLM means “Royal Dutch Airlines‎”. 🙂 Now it time for You to learn something new from Finland!!!
