An evening of quilts……………….

Last week, Tuesday, the LaCrosse (WI) Area Quilt Guild presented a special event evening featuring Julie Hendrickson, owner of JJ Stitches Quilt Shop, Sun Prairie, WI. Julie is a very frequent contributor to “American Patchwork & Quilting” magazine. The quilts she brought are but a small fraction of her total collection and featured her pristine turn of the century quilt purchases along side of the reproductions she has made for a great many of them. In the following photos, when 2 similar quilts are shown, the one on the left is the purchased/older one and the one on the right is the repo. (To enlarge any of the photos, click on it.)

In case you haven’t quite spotted her, Julie is the gal in the blue………. There were many many more beautiful quilts presented but, perhaps, you need a nap now!!!!

Thanks so much for stopping by for a visit. Next time I’ll give you a glimpse into my weekend, just passed, that was anything but quiet!!!!

Til we meet again…..”Happy trails to you”…………… (guess that “ancient” TV program!!!)

Right on!!!! Roy Rogers, Sky King, and so many others. Wow, those are a few memories from the vault!!! LOL!!! The old quilts she showed were in such immaculate condition!!!! I’ve never seen such a collection and then to see the “repos” that she has done…….

  7. KerryCan says:

Wow! Some gorgeous old quilts! I love that she is reproducing them.

  8. Gloria says:

Until we meet again said Roy Rogers and Dale Evans.

  9. By my own standards those antique and vintage quilts have limited color palettes – (I tend to put together combinations that would not look out of place in a comic book) – but what mastery they reveal. They are subtle yet always attractive!

  10. KrisR says:

Gorgeous! Who needs to go to a quilt show? Thanks for taking the time to post these Doreen.

  11. Michele says:

So fun to see the old and new versions next to each other.

  12. What great quilts! I love them all!!
