QOV (Quilt of Valor)……#2……

Is, also, a finish. Since this one was a pinwheel, I took the “no brainer” route and stitched swirls……large swirls….everywhere…..edge to edge.014

017

And the backing…………………………..018

And, most importantly, the front(!)……………………….016

The same threads were used on this quilt as on the one  in the last post: Superior Metallics in “Variegated Gold”, #025, 40 wt, and Connecting Threads Essential Pro, 70 wt, in the bobbin. Finished size (w/o binding) is- 55”x 66”.

Both of these quilts were made by the same gal who belongs to the larger Spring Grove (MN) quilt group I belong to. There are several gals who put together these QOV most using material purchased with donations to this cause. If the maker of the quilt doesn’t do the quilting, it is given to me to do so. To find out more about the Quilt of Valor program see here. The quilts that we finish are given to returning military in our district at special dinner events hosted at Ironwood Springs Christian Ranch.

Now, back to my ‘interrupted’ quilt project………………………have an awesome weekend!!!!!!

You answered my question from the previous post! What a great program–very impressive!

  3. This is just such a wonderful undertaking, a loving way to support our returning soldiers. My brother-in-law, Neil, is currently stationed in Afghanistan and we are awaiting his safe return in October.

Prayers always for those who serve. Although it is said that “war is hell”, I think that these situations today are far worse…….the “enemy” doesn’t have an identifiable face and the “rules of engagement” are non-existent!!!! Hugs…………….

  4. Love this and all the love you send all over the world. Cant wait to see you soon. Your sweet husband stopped by and said hellos from you earlier this week.. Hugs

He so enjoyed his time that day and on Thursday (yesterday) when he came back with our UK friend, Mack, and did your main street “thing”. They both so enjoyed it and love (and appreciate) Belle. Hugs……………….. (soon, in person!!!)
