Visited yesterday. This time they were located up the (Mississippi) river in Lake City (MN). The day was gloriously warm and sunny and the company was fun and chatty. Carol, Kathy and I have made many such treks together searching out various quilting ‘gems’ and this was promising to be no different. In addition, celebrating a recent birthday always makes such an event a bit more special.
The first shop is “Rather Bee Quilting” located on the main street of this busy river town.
Even from the window displays, one can count on an a inspiring experience!!!! To continue………………..
This is Melody, whose cheerful smile and most helpful advice was always at the ready. Say “Hello, Melody!”.
This, truly, is a shop that has something for everyone! From batiks to unique designers I’ve not seen anywhere else to Stonehenge to………..well, as I said…..everyone’s taste/need will be satisfied. The samples are many and varied with the needed supplies nearby.
Before we head out to the next destination, I must share my acquisitions with you, or at least, the photo……………
These are from Robert Kaufman’s line called “Holiday Flourish” by Peggy Toole. The gold metallics have really caught my eye this year!!!!!!!
And, now, we head to “Pumpkinberry Stitches” located just around the corner……oh so convenient!!!!!! Such an inviting shop……shall we go in??????????? Oh yes, we must!!!!
When this shop first opened, over 3 years ago, Moda fabrics dominated but now a more diverse offering awaits. From embroidery and felted wool supplies and yarns to the cheerful Riley Blake designs, there is, once again, something to pique the creative ‘juices’ of all who enter. This shop is a wonderful compliment to the last, rarely duplicating needed supplies. Though a very compact venue, there is much to hold a shopper’s attention for quite a long time!!!!
And there’s Lisa (in the blue)…….the delightful owner of this cozy location. Please, don’t leave without a greeting!!! She was working on a holiday themed piecing that she shared with us and, now, I will share with you!!!!!
It’s a free download from Hoffman Fabrics……… Hop on over for this one. There’s a blue version that’s so cool and frosty! Here’s another free download from Lecien that’s equally charming and even easier!!!!!!
Although this one appears to be many pieces, the clever method of cutting makes this one ideal for beginners!!!! Trust me!!!!!
My quilting piles up……staying home really has to take priority!!! LOL! These lovely Fall days beckon one to soak up these fleeting lingering hints of summer. Thank you so much for visiting and, please, come back again! Hugs……….
WOW!! don’t spend too much lol……everything is so lovely, I think i could get carried away 🙂
Sigh………………………
Very nice. I’m itching to check out some new to me stores. And thanks for the pattern link. The one will make great holiday placemats.
Precisely my thoughts, also. That special season will be upon us all too quickly!!!!!!
Just like KerryCan I drooled over those wonderful fabrics. One thing I noticed was the quilted jacket in picture 8 with Melody. I do really like it. Thank you too for showing all those wonderful, totally different quilts. I just HAVE to download the free patterns. Thank you for taking us with you on your latest fabric/quilting adventure. 🙂
The 2nd pattern is a “must do”! Appears complex but is amazingly simple! Great stash buster! I’m so glad you ‘came along’!!!! Hugs…………….
Ohhh, you make me want to take a road trip! These both look like wonderful shops!
They are and close enough to each other that I didn’t even have to move the car!!!! Hehehe…………..
What a fun day!! Gotta love exploring a quilt shop!
So true, but I’ve got to stop it!!! I’m not getting any sewing done!!! LOL!!!!
I just drooled on my keyboard. Wonderful-looking shops!
I do a lot of that!!! Maybe we should invent a “drool-shield”!!!!! LOL!!!!!
Awesome fabrics collections. Blessings Always, Mtetar
Looks like a fun outing.
Very much!!!!!
You must stock up for those cold snowy that are sure to come!
Sadly, you are all too correct!!!!!!
Wow! Those are two wonderful shops!!!! I am loving seeing all of the wonderful quilts on the walls and all the possibilities. How large is your to do pile now??? 🙂
Huge ‘sigh’!!!! I’m drowning…………………………
