In a previous post, here, I showed you a couple of red & white quilts made from a clever method Missouri Star Quilt Company had put on-line. Version #4 is the one I chose to demo FMQ (free motion quilting) on for our quilt show/event. I’m using a DSM (domestic sewing machine), Ms Juki, to stitch “long-arm style” quilting on this 55”x 65” lap quilt. After some ‘warm-up’/testing, I chose this motif…………………..
And, most definitely, yes this was stitched on this great little machine! So, for the next couple of days, this will be where you will find me………………………………….
I’ll be back with more shortly…………………………..
I remember when you were hesitant about doing feathers. Look at you now!
LOL! I was just thinking about that very recently!!!!! So funny that you remembered! “Feathers”….sigh……in all shapes, sizes and varieties….luv ’em!! Yup! We’ve all come a long ways since our first virtual meet-up and machine purchase!!!!! The time has so flown………………..Hugs across the miles, Friend…….
I love that color combo–hope you’ll show a full picture of the finished product!
I got quite a bit done on it yesterday afternoon. Should finish the quilting today. Bind it tomorrow??? We’ll see how the energy level is after 7 hours of demo today!!!!!!
Did you do any SID on this one? Is that movement in your muscle memory now, or did you do any marking first? Looks beautiful by the way. Smiles………………. enjoy.
No SID!!!! and no marking. Did some practice (a little) on muslin sandwich but this is a combo of a couple different motifs (swirl + feather) that I do. Thanks for the kudos!!!! Hugs………………………
Have fun!
I so love to do these types of events!!!!!!
