A Friday finish……….

A bridesmaid dress, that is. It’s for a wedding on the 18th and in need of a hem and, since it’s strapless, some ‘taking in’ at the very top. Just 2 layers of hem this time………….. 001     The chiffon overlayer is hemmed after the lining in order to double check the length (trust me….it’s best done that way!! Chiffon is a bit(!?) unstable to work on!!!)      And, now, it’s hanging….ready for the upcoming occasion.    002 Always a little sewing variety goin’ on at my place!!!!!! Have a great weekend!!! We’re off to the RV……….time is “ticking” away on this all-too-short season!!!!!!

Such an unusual shade for a bridesmaid dress. A nice change from the pinks and pale blues. I agree I always do the underskirt/lining first when turning a hem with a chiffon overlay. 🙂

The Blessed One is going to look really nice. You’re right it is a hard fabric to work with. Blessings Always, Mtetar

” A little sewing variety”? that’s an understatement!
    Beautiful color and work.
    Enjoy your weekend, Doreen!

The weekend was beautiful!!!! Friday was such a productive day (2 finishes…..bridesmaid dress and the Asian quilt….yay!) that the time at the RV was extra relaxing!!! Just trimmed the Asian one and it’s now ready for pick-up!!!! Now, on to the week………………………

That’s really pretty! If I were getting married again, I’d go for a fall wedding so people could wear the pretty shades of autumn. You did a great job with the dress!

Lovely shade of coral which seems to be the “in” color this year for weddings, along with turquoise. Beautiful dress and bless you for working with Chiffon – a bugger of a fabric! Have fun with the RV.

  6. Well done on a project that looks like a challenge to tackle.

Very sweet words but more like been around a long enough time to have cut into some really different fabrics and found out some of the “pit-falls” of each. As much as I love the bridal industry, I’m lovin’ my quilting cottons even more!!!!! LOL!
