Were shared yesterday at quilt guild meeting. My, this group must never sleep! The day began with a “workshop”, led by Janice, on making an apron from a pair of (men’s) bib front jeans. I wasn’t there for most of the morning but was informed there was a ton of giggling and talking………and ripping out of side seams to prep for the actual ‘making’! It turned out that the gals will finish the project at home but here are the 3 samples that were shown…………..This one was made using the narrower/smaller back of the bibs. And these utilized the fronts. Such a cute idea. The apron on the left will go to a fella who does a bit of grilling. Janice, on the right, is showing my fave…love the red plaid…..even peeking out of the pockets! Now, of course that leaves the pant legs, so Carol went ahead and made a wonderful see-through little tote using those!!!!!! Such a clever gal!!!!
Several QOV (Quilt of Valor….quilts that are given as a ‘thank you’ to returning military personnel) were made and added to our needed number of donation quilts…….. Yvonne is a “mega quilter”……I absolutely know she mustn’t sleep!!!! This little quilt was a donation to our group’s QOV for someone who might need/want something smaller. This block had many possible settings and Barb’s hubby decided the one below was his choice (after he ‘sneaked’ into her studio and rearranged the blocks on her design wall!!!!)
And some “shares”…………..This gal purchased this as a single train runner but needed to separate it ‘cuz of the grandkids she has (more than 1!!!) and she had stash fabric to complete the individual sections that resulted!!!!!!!
Carol is always on the lookout for all things clever/cute and this is the latest. Take 1 wine glass, add a small battery operated candle/tea-light and a shade (she devised the pattern) and you have this…………
A couple of little tree quilts from a Sandi Irish pattern. Pam has been busy! She was along on our bus trip/shop hop last June and wasn’t going to buy anything……..well, she spotted a quilt pattern in a magazine that was passed around on the bus (one of several that were give-aways) and the result was some fabric purchased and this………… One gorgeous quilt!!!!!!!!
A couple of tablerunners from Linda…….
So, as “they” say “a good time was had by all”!
Til next time………………………….
