In the form of one giant (50”x60”) pin-wheel block! Yup….just 1 block!!!!!! Ordinarily, something of this size, and made with a looser weave flannel, would not be recommended, but I would term this one a pure success. Although there appears to be a bit of waviness at the bottom edge, it’s more due to the way it’s hanging. This was put together by a relatively new quilter! Interesting! Yes, those last 2 photos are of the pieced backing. The flannel was fairly light weight and, as I said, quite loosely woven so a swirl stitching motif was chosen to contain the instability of both the top and backing. I threw in a stitched pin-wheel for a little variety!!! This was one happy project!!!!!
Threads used: Sulky Viscose, color #1047 on top and Connecting Threads Essential Pro poly, 70wt, color “Natural” on the bobbin. “Pin-wheel Swirl” motif.
