Did I really just say that???? Well, it’s not……there’s lunch out with a bloggy friend, too!!!! Yup, the prearranged meet-up took place in a little Minnesota town name Wykoff. Situated in the midst of rolling corn fields, this little settlement has one of the best gift shops and tea rooms I’ve been to!!! Trust me!!!! The Bank Haus Gifts and Margaret’s Tea Room is located on the (only?) main street in a beautiful historic structure.
The blustery November winds were racing down the street and Beth Ann would have toppled but for the fabulous lunch we had just had……..totally renewing her strength!!!!! One of the specials was an original recipe ham salad sandwich on croissant. I had a delicious (original recipe) salad of slaw, broccoli, onion, fresh cranberries and a special dressing….yum……………
The dinner rolls, entrees and desserts are homemade with recipes available in their 2 cookbooks……conveniently for sale on the counter. I had gotten the original one years ago and have made their craisin/pecan rolls numerous times……and blogged about them!!!!!!
I’m sure this one (on top) will be much used, also!!! Now, some interior ‘shots’…………………..
The staff had just spent the previous 4 days changing over to the Christmas theme and, as we sat there, we definitely felt that the holiday season was only moments away!!!! Do you have a place that is a fave during the upcoming season?? This one rates really high on my list of places!!!!! One last “selfie”…………
What a wonderful afternoon, and I’m so glad to see those smiling faces!
Why, thank you!!!!!!
Yes there is life outside of quilting and time well spent too! That salad looked delicious…yummy.!
Got the cookbook with that one in it and just made it this afternoon…..super easy, basic ingredients and yum-o!!!!!!!
a very fun day with a friend-I like the fact that this restaurant makes homemade foods that they serve and then shares the recipes-
I am totally blown away by that!!! I’ve made the salad, I ate that day, today and the taste is identical!!!!! (The miracle is that I followed the recipe exactly!!!! Just ask my DH!!)
Gonna go look at the map. I’ll be passing through Minnesota next spring and maybe I can check it out!
Let me know when!!!!!!! MEET-UP!!!!!!!!!!
That would be great!!!
I never in a million years thought I’d hear you say there was more to life than quilting! But I’m glad to know you make time for other fun, too!
Well……there’s also my family, motorcycle, traveling and, most definitely, my music (piano & vocal). Now that I think about it, there’s even more…………………..LOL!
That looks like a really wonderful place. Thanks for sharing the pretty pictures.
It is a wonderful place……there aren’t enough of these!!!!!!
Missed you guys. Looks like you had a great time in a lovely small town. And that camel? Wouldn’t have believed it had Beth Ann not emailed a pic of it.
Me either!!! Thought sure it could have been a llama!!! I stand corrected!!! LOL!!! We so missed you, dear Friend……………
It was such a fun day!!! Thanks again for meeting up with me. And yes—I look like it is a bit blowy out, don’t I?
It really was!!! A beautiful Autumn day replete with a camel!!!!!!!
Wow nice meet up and a day well spent I’m believing. Great Pics. Blessings Always, Mtetar
What fun! Enjoying it with a friend makes it double special! Looks like a wonderful place to have lunch and do a bit of shopping.
The shopping is grand!! The food even better!!!!
