Pins removed, finished……….

And bagged ready for pick-up. This quilt, partially shown here, is stitched, trimmed and I love it!!!! 002  The pattern is nothing complex but does contain a ‘ton’ of happy fabrics…..yes???  I think the “Fun Flower” motif is so fitting for this one done in the Isacord “Apricot” (#1220) colored thread. Some close-ups………..003

The photos really don’t do it justice! A ‘shot’ of the backing……………………….004

Did a bit (very little!) of straightening in the quilting area….I can actually see the top of a couple of flat surfaces!!!!! But it won’t last……..I hope to do a bit more on the “Cardinal Quilt” tomorrow afternoon but first a quick trek to LaCrosse. Added to the short list of items to be picked-up is a microwave. You see, while heating up supper plates tonight the aroma that permeated the kitchen was not that of yummy pork roast, potatoes and squash but something very hot, burning(?) and electrical!!!! With a quick flourish the several year old “mic” was banished to the cold outdoors to await disposal. Me thinks I know what my “gift” will be this year!!!! LOL!!!! Til next time…………………………………….

  1. Yikes. I have a spare microwave in the closet and used only one summer by the son. Just sayin’.

Could you define “with a quick flourish?” That sounds quite poetic, but I bet the actual “quick flourish” was not.

Poetic in words only! If there’s one thing that sets me off it’s the smell of something electrical malfunctioning!!!!! Thanks so much for offering your “spare”. Will get with Tom and let you know his thoughts. It would be a lovely reason to come your direction…..hmmmmm????

  2. Good morning Doreen! I am really impressed with your FMQ design. The combination of the flower and the leaves is very pretty. I love how it flows like the flower were thrown out over the quilt.

Love your quilting design–really makes the quilt! Scary microwave story though–yikes!

It was a really relaxing design to quilt/stitch, too! After a morning in LaCrosse (Best Buy), a new model now resides on the counter. If there’s one smell that sends “chills” through me it’s that “acid electrical” odor!!!! The ‘mic’ served us well for about 12 years so can’t really say too much except….very thankful it didn’t turn into something worse (very appropriate for the upcoming day, dontcha think???)…..Thanksgiving Blessings to you, my Bloggy Friend!!! Hugs……………………

Yes it is a simple design but the quilting brings it to life. Nicely done.
