New door banner required………

For my friend, Leah, who resides in the local long term care facility. The one that’s currently on her door…..004 is great for these first few days but…….well, it will become a bit “dated” very soon, so out comes everything I needed for a wool felted replacement……..001           These 2 little guys will keep Leah in good company during our notoriously cold and snowy January…….I’ll probably deliver this one tomorrow, while the temps are in the “balmy” lower 30’s because after that it’s all downhill!!!

image  Looking at that forecast makes me shiver!!!! Definitely some “3-quilt” nights coming!!!!! The ‘deep freeze’ is pretty wide spread but, after all, it is January! And this is definitely quilting weather!!!! Remember, July is coming!!! LOL!

Til next time, just ‘easing’ into the New Year………

We’ve known each other for many years and was/is my “mom” since we moved here years ago. No other family here……she will be 95 the beginning of Feb!!!!! Amazing! Thank you so much for stopping for a bit!!!! Hugs…..

  3. What a wonderful “daughter” you are. Such a blessing to dear Leah.

Those little snowmen are just perfect to cheer up a chilly January day. I made a grocery store run, had lunch with friends and one more “holiday family gathering” tomorrow. Then I’m in until it warms up! ⛄️ ⛄️ ⛄️

It looks like a really cold stretch…….ugh! You had a really ‘fun’ day!!! Enjoy…tomorrow I take down the few decorations that are out. Temps will make it a tad more pleasant!!!!

You made me laugh! July may be coming, but I always say “Only about 8 weeks until March1”. Usually by then we are through the worst of the snow and cold . . . ready to hunt for daffodils popping and actually look forward to cleaning up the yard! At least that is life in Northern Indiana!

OK, I’ll accept your thought……a bit easier to “wrap my mind around”! Here (in S.E. MN, 30 miles due West of LaCrosse,WI) we get weather coming up from Iowa…..generally a titch more moderate than the rest of MN. The bluffland seems to interrupt weather patterns so we fall into a ‘hole’ and storms go around us. A good thing!!!
Thanks for popping in and taking time to chat!!!! Hugs….

Love your blog… have been such a help!!!

  8. KerryCan says:

The snowmen are so cute–they’ll warm up Leah’s days for sure! That forecast is kind of grim–I hate it when the highs are below zero! Cold air coming our way, too . . .

    • treadlemusic says:

This is where an “Unlike” button is needed!!! Just who could “Like” this forecast!!!!???!!!!!! LOL! Woke up to 28F and snow this a.m. More on the way w/ frz drzle…..UGH!

  9. Jeanne says:

The snowmen are perfect! I’m sure she’ll love the new banner. We have snow again as of this AM. Sounds like it might be a bit stormy around here today – very wintery! Enjoy your time with Leah!

    • treadlemusic says:

I had thought of trekking to town today, but may leave the New Year banner on her door til mid-week and then visit!!!! Cocooning sounds a tad more appealing today!!!! More storminess coming tonight so may not drive the 40 miles to church in the a.m.!!!!!

  10. Jackie says:

Being the snow lover that I am, you know I’m loving this little gem. How sweet and perfect for this time of year!

Doreen!!! New Year blessings to you and yours! 🙂 Love that snowman ornament!! Stay warm – July can’t be here soon enough for me. :o)

Sigh……..I know, that elusive warmth is gone from the whole US!!!! Ugh!!! Even extreme southern TX is barely hitting 40!!!!!! We leave for that area on the 14th!!! Will be going down through Russellville to do a meet-up with CJ (Tinkle) and then over to Ft Smith to stay with a cousin of Tom’s. Lookin’ for a “snowbird” location for us for the future!!!!!!! Hugs……………….SSAB

I love to see your door banners! You are so good to Leah and I can only imagine the joy these bring to her, and to all who visit.
