Wordless Wednesday…….Not!…………

Hi! I’m back to show you client’s quilt #2………………..010

Such an interesting pattern, don’t you think????? The color/pattern combos certainly “play” well together and ya just gotta love all the secondary patterns that emerge. Here’s a peak at the back……………..012  The fabric seems to be a light-weight denim and works well with the shirting weight fabrics in the top. It’s got some ‘heft’ to it for being a smaller quilt.

Thread: Aurifil Mako 50wt (top) and Connecting Threads Essential Pro poly 70wt (bobbin).

Batting: Hobbs 80/20 cotton/poly

Stitching motif: all over swirls.

I do hope that your week is progressing nicely and you’re able to get some stitching done!!! Til next time………………..

When you first look at the quilt top it gives a silvery shiny appearance like foil. It is a different look altogether and as you say works well. Like the swirls as they match with the movement of the quilt.

I know!!! When I first looked at the photo, I had to take a second look at the “real” quilt!!!!! Doesn’t quite have that shimmery look ‘in person’ but still is neat!!! Thanks for taking time to leave a few words…hugs………

The backing surprised me for some reason! I assumed it would pick up the colors in the front but I guess it complements the border and not the red that my eye is drawn to. Another lovely for sure!

  3. What a great quilt! Fun way to enlarge small and … relatively uninteresting 9-patches. The setting makes it so interesting. Thanks for showing.

Such a sense of movement in that top!

  5. The fabric reminds me of Paul Bunyan for some reason. Practical. Hardworking. Minnesotan.

Now I see “pinwheels”…yes, they are there! Lovely top with the red and plaids; odd combination but it blends beautifully. Great swirls btw…

Really interesting block layout on that one.
