That’s what happens when many projects are started, little blog peeks are posted and weekends intervene! So, here’s my version of attempting to finish what was begun a bit ago.
First up……..The linen piece that started as a dupioni tension testing here and went to a partial completion here and looks like this now………………………
Again, with a bit(?) more texture………………………………….
Detail “shots”……………………………………
The “blue” silk is a lavender-blue…most accurate in the first photo.
Thread: (top) Isacord (white) and Sulky Viskose (blue/gray); (bobbin) Connecting Threads Essential Pro Poly.
Batting: Hobbs Heirloom 80/20 (cotton/poly) & Hobbs Silk (under linen portion only)
***Machine used: Juki TL2010Q (DSM-domestic sewing machine)

“Loose ends” #2 to follow……………soon………….promise!!!!!!
What started out as a test project came out more beautiful than one could anticipate! Yes I know I’m late, but hey, at least I got here!
Really pretty!
Thanks so much, Michele!!! It’s really nice to do these smaller projects once in a while!!!!! “Instant” gratification….so to speak!!!! LOL!
I’m glad to see this one finished–just love the idea of using the vintage piece!
Linens (especially old ones) seem to be a tad ‘unstable’ for this type of stitching and spray basting helps immensely……I’m glad that there are good products on the shelves for this!
I have many more pieces in my stash, so stay tuned!!!! Thnx for stopping by!!! Hugs……………………….
So pretty!!!
A beautiful finish! Thanks for the detail pics. Inspirational!
You are so very welcome, although my camera skills don’t come close to relaying the “real thing”, unfortunately. For some, the camera is their “art form” but, for me, it is the needed tool to achieve an (blog) end!!! LOL!!!
Just lovely…. You do such amazing work!
Thank you, once again. Your sweet words are always a blessing!!!!
Weekends should intervene. Summer is too short here in Minnesota. Lovely work, as always.
You make a very good point!!!!! (Tom would definitely concur!!!!!!)
Doreen, that is so beautiful, you are so talented wish I could do the same.
Using linens, or some such, is a wonderful way to get the “creative juices” flowing and practice all those stitching ideas that are floating in your head!!!!!! Try it and you may surprise yourself!!!! Thrift shop “finds” and family linens, generally, abound and are reasonably priced!!! Go for it!!! You can do it!!!!! Hugs……..
Looks really wonderful.
Thank you, Lin……hugs comin’ at ya…………
Just gorgeous!
Thank you, my friend.
