Fabulously Fun Feathered Friday Finish……………..

Too much??? Maybe a titch overboard with the alliteration?? Well, it is a finish and here is the photo heavy post …………………….. IMG_1036  The finished size is 45”x 54”….a bit smaller than the 6 block by 6 block pattern (I did 5 blocks across) but I really like it! With the washing/drying, the texture is off the scale and makes for difficult photos!!! But who doesn’t love excessive texture??? You really should see it “in person”…….appears totally “heirloom” and old!!!! IMG_1037

A couple “back shots”…………… IMG_1035

This quilt piecing began last September, but it was a Monday Design Wall this week and, now, a finish!

Thread: (top) Glide, 40 wt, “Peach”; (bobbin) Connecting Threads Essential Pro poly, 70 wt, “Caramel”          Batting: Hobbs Heirloom Cotton/Poly (80/20)      Stitching design: all-over feather (hand-guided/non stitch regulated). Pattern: FREE download from Lecien Fabrics: “Sweet Broderie Pinwheels”.

The weekend is once again upon us. I hope you have lovely plans and thank you for your visits and kind comments. Til next time, hugs…………………………..

    Thanks, I may try it!

It really turned out beautifully Doreen. How do you like the Connecting Threads’ 70wt in the bobbin?

    • treadlemusic says:

I use it pretty much exclusively now. Next to no lint build up, consistent tension from bobbin fill to bobbin fill, “plays well” with all types of upper threads…..cotton, rayon, metallics…in all weights. The bobbins load with mega yardage (@ 70 wt) and the $$$ is very right. It really has a lot going for it. And, oh yes, I’ve used it on my Sweet 16, Juki, Bernina and Elna! I hope that answers your inquiry!! LOL!

  3. Yeah to you for a great finish!

When I pulled it from the dryer I was quite surprised at the amount of texture!! I never pre-wash my fabrics, but this quilt really is something! I love it! Thanks for stopping by and have an awesome weekend!!!!
