Another of my grandmom’s little pieces…………..
The gold/yellow fabric is a piece of Kona but I might change it out for a similar color “Radiance”, by Kaufman.
Once again, I’ll be using Glide thread as the top thread and Connecting Threads Essential Pro poly in the bobbin. I will be stitching this on my Juki TL2010Q.
Oooh, you’ve got me interested! I just finished making a table runner using pieces of my mom’s old hankies. I had no idea what to do with them, but was inspired by another blog and now I love it! I have some of her embroidered doilies like yours, so I’ll be watching to see what you do!
There is progress in my “design phase”!! LOL! Just to transfer this and begin the stitching………………….
You know I love it when you work your magic on vintage pieces! I keep thinking I should try a similar project but with hand quilting, since that’s my preferred method.
Hand quilting would be awesome!!!!! So in keeping with the “vintage” feel!!!!!
I love vintage embroidered items like this. I always find it tough to pass them up in thrift stores or at garage sales.
Will await your reveal…
So pretty-I want to see what you do with it!
Me, too!!! LOL! Usually I have a “plan” after a night’s sleep but I dreamt of other things, I guess!!!!
I have a bunch of those doilies! I never thought of doing anything with them other than as is so I can’t wait to see what happens next. Please –keep us posted! I love the teaser!
These are absolutely the most perfect little fun projects to stitch!!! I think each of us has a few secreted away with nothing to do!!!! If not, these are the most reasonably priced linens one may purchase at thrift shops!!!!!!
I may have to hire you for some of mine!!!!!
And I might have to accept the idea!!!!!! 😃
Hmmm…very pretty and interesting. The fabric i presume is a cotton? I have a few of those type doilies myself so I’m intrigued to see what you do with it.
Yes, Kona………..sorry, forgot that!!!!!!
