My smaller quilt group meeting took place yesterday (Sunday) afternoon at a member’s lovely home 60 miles distant. A gorgeous sunny, and quite cool, day and the quilty chatter was non-stop. Some photo shares…………. our resident rug-hooking expert (and accomplished quilter, I might add!) was first……so she could get to the lunch prep………
Her rugs are all her own original creations and patterns are available for order on her web site Oak Ridge Cottage Rugs.
Yes, this teacher has been quite busy on her summer days off. She created a pillow to accompany this quilt which may find its way to her daughter’s home.
The above pillow is approx. 18” square and contains the fabrics used in the finished quilt above. So fun and not difficult, the process made easier with a circle die cutter!!!!
The dessert was a perfect choice…….chocolate!!!!!!!! Yum!!!!!!!! Coffee had the preferance ‘edge’, with the cool out-door temps.
The “table-scape” was the perfect end-of-summer setting………………………….
A quick last photo of these good friends…………………………….
Next up a Give-away!!!!!!!!! Stay tuned………………………….
It looks like a good time was had by all and yes that that chocolate cake looks so yummy.
Sigh…..it was THE best chocolate cake ever! From a super elite bakery (“Daubes'”) in Rochester (MN). Hugs……..
I love everything about the content of this post: the hooked rugs, the quilts, the vintage tablecloths, the chocolate cake with raspberries and the sunflowers. Beautiful. All of them. What a great group.
It is a very special one! 😍
Love those rugs, simply beautiful.
Kathy does such awesome things!!!! Makes a body want to take up rug hooking (her primitive style!!!!). Hugs from the VERY chilly Midwest!!!!! Still only 53F at this moment (7:45)!!!!!!!
What a nice variety of crafts! I like that your group is not limited to quilting! And I love that vintage tablecloth in the foreground of the last photo!
You spotted that cloth, too! I threatened to leave with it!! She found 2 vintage carnation water glasses (50’s), too, at this flea market. The cloth is in perfect condition!!!!!!!!!!
Another dazzling display. 🙂
Mmm, that cake looks good, you all look very happy so it must have been a good get together, there is nothing like spending a day with like minded friends.
Although many missed this gathering (we’re 15 total), most of us have been meeting for over 30 years with quilting being the “thread that binds”………hugs…..
Are you aware that there is a long arm quilting guild called S.E.A.M.S. (SouthEast Area Machine Stitchers) that meets about 4-5 times a year in the Southern MN area? We move from community to community and have members from northern IA, Winona, Rochester, Hastings, Lake City, Wabasha, Austin, Owatonna and a few other cities in the area. Contact me if you have an interest in joining us. We are hosting Judi Madsen/Green Fairy Quilts for classes in Oct. in Spring Valley, MN. mfnelson@hbci.com
Thanks so much, Mary!
