Over the years I’ve been blogging, I’ve been blessed with so many new friends…….some who have faithfully commented on my jottings but don’t have the inclination to have a formal blog of their own. One such friend is Lin. We do have much in common, along with quilting, our DHs are/were in the trucking business, albeit her location is far from mine (“across the pond”!).

Lin shared a quilt finish she gifted to a friend who had recently married. She had, also, done her bridal gown alterations (another shared interest!!!!!).

That small center white piece is a portion of the bridal gown she altered and had strategically placed in the quilt as an added remembrance……so sweet!!

Thank you, Lin, for allowing me to inspire others with this very special quilt!!!!

Isn’t it amazing the stories that come with quilts? Whether it’s who it is made for, the fabric’s origins, or what was happening in life when the sewing was in process. This is another beauty, Blogging friends are wonderful, too!

I have just seen this blog as I am working my way through the emails on my return from holiday yesterday. I see you did get the email and I have just sent it again so you can ignore it. LOL. I was reading your blog in chronological order hence my sending it again.
Thank you everyone who liked the wedding gift quilt. It was a pleasure to make.
You are so right blogging friends are the best. We get to “meet” quilters who are worlds away but we can class as friends. I have been lucky enough to meet a blogging friend for real and we discovered our worlds are not so far apart so we can have regular meetings.
