My Saturday was a fantastic blur of micro-stippling, visiting with enthusiastic quilters…..and their equally inquisitive hubbys——really!—and listening to the charming designer of the “Patch Abilities” pattern line, Julie Wurzer (blog)
She shared how her career really took off several years ago when contacted by the Fons & Porter “Love of Quilting” people who wanted to carry her patterns……in serious quantity!!!! Julie had a very friendly, “girl-friend sharing” style that drew everyone in as she showed samples of her patterns from the beginning to the yet-to-be-released designs (Fall Market is coming up fast!!!!).
Her inspiration comes from everywhere and is all those favorites we see everyday…….with a “Julie twist”!
It wasn’t hard to see she had everyone’s rapt attention for the 1 hour+ presentation!!!
After packing all my belongings into the car (photo explanation here), I headed home, to offload, and then off to the camper/campground where DH, Tom, was waiting. We had sold our camper last weekend (yes, a story of how the Lord orchestrates and we stand out of the way and give thanks!) and Sunday was the beginning of bringing some of the site’s ‘stuff’ home.
First, was the picnic table, bikes, bonfire surround (yes, it is ours!!!!) and wood steps…….
All packed,just need the bicycles……….
A little visit with the neighbors and we headed home.
We’ll have one more weekend to finish up and will pull the camper home to finish the emptying and prepping for winter. Winter storage will be at our place and the new owners will get it next Spring. Time to close one chapter and begin another!!!!! Life is adventure……….we just have to “hang on”.
Til next time. This week is truly packed with quilting and a trek to Prairie du Chien (WI)……stay tuned for a future post!!!!!
Julie’s passion for quilt pattern design shows in your words and photos. And so does your joy in spending this weekend with other quilters.
I expect it was with mixed emotions that you closed the sale on your camper. But a blessing given your plans to head south during the colder months. You always have the most positive attitude. Your trust in God shines, simply shines.
Wow–you have a lot going on! Bless your hearts! The quilts part of it looked amazing and the trailer part of it a lot of work but you guys obviously have gotten answers to prayers and are well on your way to your happy place! 🙂
I believe that for everyone who chooses to join hands with the Lord, life contains amazing joy and peace (the “valleys” don’t go away but we know He’s there with us!!!!!).
