Evidence of the season………..

Awakening to the sounds of gunshots this morning further reinforces the fact that it’s deer gun season, Fall and the holidays are banging at the door!!!! Another sure sign is the multitude of craft and art sales that abound! School gymnasiums, auditoriums, and other larger public settings are hosts to a myriad of vendors tempting us to purchase that special gift. Locally, our little town hosts its event at the high school, giving us opportunities to renew acquaintances, catch up on recent happenings and, oh yes, make some holiday purchases!!!!!

The area surrounding the building really is so pretty……………..

But, the scenery is not what this post is about………..it’s about the “holiday fairy-land” that the organizers would have us enter into and kick-off, what is for some, a spending spree that is out of our norm……………..

My only purchase was a dozen homemade oatmeal chocolate chip peanut butter cookies…….and they are delish!!!!! I must do my part to support the local long-term-care facility auxiliary…………..yes?????

Across the street from the school was this neat “barn” quilt, proudly displayed………..

There are many in our area and a self-guided tour listing is available at some of the town’s tourist centers.

It’s a beautiful, sunny crisp Autumn day and the perfect time to……..quilt!!!

I love to look at the “homespun” American towns. Thank you for posting those pictures. You were very strong only buying some cookies.

Had a couple of bazaars here today also but it rained most of the day and a bit cool, so stayed inside. It’s also great to shop at these bazaars this time of year. Cookies sound delish!
