And that’s the way we roll!!!! Last Wednesday the garage project came to a temporary halt ‘til #2 son comes back from his California trucking trek. It’ll be the end of this week, and with Christmas, us leaving for Texas and all, I’m not sure what’s next. Some photos of that last work day and what the current status is…….
Because of #2 son’s construction equipment access, we seem to have his operating expertise plus the needed “big toys” to do these tasks ourselves. Right now, the grass is still green under a very light dusting of white which will quickly vanish with the forecast of warmer temps and rain….again tomorrow!!!!!
On the quilting front, there’s none being done….at the moment. BUT there is some interesting painting. The item is an addition to our Texas abode. To refresh your memory, here’s a photo of the end of the “park model” which faces the drive……. I originally posted more photos here.
See that cute flower box??? Well, I had the thought that it needed a tad more “something” that was more “us”, so, I had DH cut a slightly smaller board which will be mounted over the face board of the box and will be a blue/teal color with “Tole Painting” (a Pennsylvania Dutch technique) on it……
and, then, on to the ‘real thing’…..
A little black out-lining and it will be ready to go with us. I think it will be a great “brightener” AND unique identifier, don’t you?????
The paint is drying, the brushes are cleaned and it’s almost “wine time”!!!! Happy Saturday before Christmas!!! I think I’ll go wrap a few gifts……………..
It will be so perfect on your place there! Thanks for sharing!
Your new Texas home will definitely be identifiable with your personalized art. You amaze me.
It’s been a really long time since I’ve painted anything and, unlike riding a bike, I’ve forgotten much!LOL! Unique is what I’m going for and this will definitely work well!!!!
There is no end to your talent!! Safe travels.
I have to pinch myself that THE time is here and not “out there” in the future!!! Thank you for the well wishes!!! Hugs……..
Your Texas home will stand out with the lovely painted board at the front. Hope your weather is good for travel. Last weekend we had 2″ of snow here and this morning there is not a single flake in sight. In fact it is a very clear sky with the stars shining down on us, Gary has just left for work and it is a little after 5.00 am. Yup working on a Sunday, no fun for him but it is for me. Quilting here I come. He will be home on Thursday evening this week and off for a whole day. Mustn’t get too excited. LOL. Hope Santa is kind to you ‘cos I’m sure you have been good this year. 😉
LOL! An uninterrupted sewing day is always a special gift!!!!! I’m sure any remaining white stuff will be gone by noon time!!! Starting to watch the weather for traveling….so far not looking too shabby!!!! Finishing up a couple small things on that board today and a little football watching…but church first. Have an awesome quilty day!!!! Hugs………
Love the colors.
Hmmmmm…….I have friends with great color taste/sense!!!!!!
Can’t wait to see your beautiful addition to your Encor “Lakeside” winter home! Safe travels!
Yeah, I like it too. Well done. I love painting stuff 😀
So you will leave soon for Texas and park all of your stuff in the new garage? while you are gone?
That will be a grand idea.
I like your thinking!!! Unfortunately, I don’t think it will be done enough before we are gone and the motorcycles (and other vehicles) have already found “winter homes” this year. We leave (tentatively, weather permitting) on Dec. 27th. We’ll see………
Love the design and colors!!! It adds a Scandinavian flare to your winter home
I kinda thought so, too. At first thought it was a “Rosemaling” project but I’m German!!!!(and Danish) Tole Painting seemed a bit more appropriate!!!! LOL!!!! So good to “see”you!!!!!! Hugs…………….
