“Bee” Thursday recap………..

Every Thursday is “Killer Bee” day! (see here) Business first. Next week is a shop-hop bus trek and the final details needed to be put in place. With the opening of the meeting, there were a handful of spaces left on the bus and by the end of the meeting no such vacancy!! Set! A few more bits of business and on to sharing………. (note: “thrifting” is one great pastime and, I know for myself, the thrill of the “find” at thrift/antique shops/’tag’ sales/garage sales  canNOT be duplicated!!!!)……..The first gal picked up a pant/jumpsuit. Definitely potential for……

..a sundress!!!! IMG_4927

Or, how ‘bout a shirt becoming a

summer top? IMG_4930 Or a man’s shirt becoming another (short)

sundress?? IMG_4929 For the added length, she used the sleeves!! Yup! And then (after last week’s meeting), the gals did a workshop and made a take-along work surface….a fabric covered “folder” holding a pressing

IMG_4932

surface, sandpaper area and cutting mat. The outer shape was pieces of hardboard that each gal had brought. Very clever and useful, don’t you think???

IMG_4940

Just a quick word about the above quilt. The gal made it for her hubby’s deer hunting get-away spot……..any “excuse” for making a quilt, right gals??????

IMG_4941

Love of baskets prompted the making of this quilt! Another “Winter Texan” planning for these quite cool days!!!!

IMG_4946 Another example of aprons from men’s shirts. This creative gal is wearing the one made from the front of the shirt and holding one made from the back & yoke. Nice!!!!

IMG_4948 One can never have too many awesome totes, hmmmm???????

After a brief break, the demos got going. Each took place in a corner of the room and were repeated/on-going. Great organization!!!!! Kudos to all!!!!!

“Binding Techniques: Flange & 2-color” (sorry, no photo!)

And, “Mitered Corners”…………..

IMG_4951 Have I mentioned that this group must NOT sleep!!!!!????!!!!!!

Activity continues at our little place, too. More deliveries/installs………..

IMG_4917IMG_4918IMG_4921IMG_4919Now, I really know that this little cutie has a better ‘home’ than its spot in the “livingroom”! So, while I was doing my “quilting thing”, yesterday, the appropriate spot was

located and done!!! IMG_4954

Another little area became Ms Juki

Jr’s new home……. IMG_4955

That window is going to help the lighting situation immensely!!!!!

Oh, and lest I forget, I’ve acquired a mode of transportation that is so much fun!!!! “Retro” definitely!!!!!!

IMG_4922 IMG_4923 So, I think I’ll leave you and go for a nice ride. Til next time………………
