A fun finish………………..

Not really a “vintage” piece, but a little (19” square) find at a thrift shop a while back (and first blogged here). I had brought white thread along to Texas but, now, needed blue, red and green plus a little something to bind it with. The shop hop to Corpus Christi (last Wednesday) and a quick Connecting Threads order, yielded what was needed. All the FMQ (Free Motion Quilting) was done on my Juki TL2010Q and it performed flawlessly!!!!!! Love that machine!!!!!

The perfect binding fabric was part of a neat fat quarter gift pack from the bus trip! Couldn’t have matched up any better!!!!

Looking good..like the finished product. Temps are to get to lower 60’s here today…hope warmer your way.

  2. That backing fabric is perfect. It looks like a print from a feed sack.

I don’t remember where I picked it up but do remember a similar thought at the time (with no specific direction for it, however!!). So loving it when unforeseen bits and pieces come together like this one did!!!

  3. So sweet, Doreen! Amazing quilting.

So, are you in Texas? Is this your version of Snowbirding? Isn’t that what it’s called when folks from the frigid North escape to the warmer South for a bit?
That final photo, taken in the morning light, shows off your work so beautifully!

Thanks so much, Laurie! Yes, we are officially “Winter Texans” (their name for us) and we all are made to feel so welcome everywhere!!!! Such a difference from other spots (like Florida or Arizona!!!!)!! So very nice!
