In our current Texas corner of the world are many and so varied! Here in the resort/park, there are always so many choices. Last Saturday, for example, there was an excellent vintage/classic car show (right up top of our interest list!)…..
Yup, a little something for everyone’s tastes, including a darling retro trailer that had so many standing around the exterior that a photo was impossible….BUT, a couple of interior ‘shots’ were gotten!!!………………
A total restoration (by the owner) to be proud of! And, yes, that is a gorgeous red/white quilt on the bed and, yes, the owner’s wife just happens to belong to the Killer Bees!
On last Wednesday DH & I went with friends on a boat tour of the Rio Grande River, near Mission/McAllen, TX. Very interesting……and so very sad to see the little paths leading to the water on the Mexico side and a similar path of escape on the US side.
Patrol boats are frequent and mean business! The Border Patrol is stretched to its limits and get assistance from other government agencies having water patrol capabilities. The shoreline in the above photo is Mexico.
The tour was through “Riverside Club on the River” and really brought the reality of the immigrant plight home to me. The day was a beautifully warm one and thoroughly pleasant that way.
Last eve we attended the St. Patrick’s Day event. Each table took it upon themselves to try to out-decorate the others. Much fun and an absolutely fabulous corned beef/cabbage dinner followed by lots of dancing……..mostly line dancing (which I’ve not done in years!). I give you some photo evidence of our table……….
And, yes, even this Polish/French gent became Irish for an evening!!!!!! (Hi!,Tom!)
Our Texas days are dwindling. Many events have the words “the last” preceding them. Many new friendships have been made that will be resumed next year, Lord willing!
