For the client’s adult grandson. “Rail Fence”. I was asked by the client’s daughter (a gal I worked with) to complete this quilt for her mom as that task was not possible for her. The darkest ‘bars’ are an eggplant color (I believe this is one of the wedding colors) and doesn’t really photograph accurately. The fabric to the right, above, is the backing (I was asked to pick out) and will, also, be used for the binding. A simple E2E (Edge to edge) paisley is what I’m leaning towards right now ………. it’s all sandwiched and ready to go under the machine. The size is 80”x 82”. Nice.
I had thought I would use the grey fabric (to the right above…..it’s really darker, more ‘medium’, than the pic shows) but the quilt top has a narrow ‘eggplant’ border and the grey was way too light/glaring.
Hope to start on this one…….well, maybe tomorrow…..for sure on Tuesday. I have the privilege of altering the bride’s wedding gown (fitting at the end of June) so must get this project under way!
Lovely greys & eggplant shades
This is going to be a gorgeous finish……definitely a “couples” quilt!!!!
Can’t wait to see it all quilted! I’m sure it will be wonderful and the client will be more than pleased! :o)
This may possibly be this gals (the grandmother)last quilt so it’s really special……plus the Grandson has been through so much and has persevered thru dark days. Thanks so much for taking a moment to leave your sweet comment! Hugs……….
