And there’s no better way to begin a new week……..you ‘with’ me on this one??? Of course you are!
Right now, we are at the Sunset Motel in Belle Fourche, SD, but a few hours ago we were enjoying yummy beverages at the downtown Rapid City Starbuck’s coffee shop with bloggy (first time meeting) friend, Kathryn…… Her blog, Sewing Etc., is a tad(!?!) more focused on quilting and needle-arts and records her journeys through various textile projects. Feel free to hop on over to her place…..really…..I’ll wait here! You’re back? OK, to go on with this little tale…….it’s always such a special treat to really meet one of you sweet “virtual bloggy” gals! To sit and visit over a cuppa (and may I add, DH made up the three-some) and do a bit of “brain picking” on a variety of subjects, giving life to a new friendship. The moments passed so quickly!!!! The subjects of family, quilting, children, quilting, and quilting (oops! I may be repeating myself!) were covered. I know there will be future conversations (Fb, blogs and actual visits) but the first one is always the most special. Thanks again, Kathryn, for an absolutely lovely time together.
Tomorrow I’m off to my friend’s quilt shop, The Bakery Fabrics. Til the next time………sending hugs….always…….
How fun that must have been! And I must say that one of our absolute favorite family vacations was to South Dakota so that would be a bonus!
Day #1 has been great. Picked up a wonderful deal on a vintage 50s cloth!!!! And some sweet interesting bottles for the pure vanilla extract that I’m making. Fun/productive visit with my Friend Annie who owns the Bakery Fabrics quilt shop in Belle Fourche, SD. More info on that soon!!! More visiting and antiquing tomorrow………yay!
How fun!!! I hope the weather is good your way! I think after 6 weeks, we are finally starting to connect a few days of sunshine.
The week was awesome……ended with mod high temps (they are supposed to hit 100+ today!)……we’re home and the high temps have followed us…..upper 90s yesterday & today. Tis the season…………….
Yikes! We were in the pool today (after yet more rain…) but it’s still not exactly hot because the rain keeps cooling off the water.
Doreen,
THank you for a wonderful visit, feel as though I’ve known you for years!
Same here!!!!! Til next time……..hugs….
Yeah, you got to meet another bloggy friend in person. The best! Have a safe and enjoyable rest of your trip.
Kathryn’s blog looks very interesting–thanks for “introducing” us to her!
Aren’t intro’s fun??? and you are very welcome!
How exciting it is to meet in person. Wonderful memories of a special meeting
You are so correct!
Hi Doreen,
Stopped into a lovely quilt shop in Lake City,MN the other day while visiting an uncle. Although I’m not a quilter first, I saw more quilting fabric than I’ve ever seen in one shop before! Do you know this place? Kathy from AMM
Oh yes!!!! “Rather Bee Quilting”! Awesome inventory!!! Wonderful to ‘hear’ from you!!!! Quilt fabrics are so well organized and great for many other sewing projects (generally pretty good quality) but sure have gotten a tad pricey!!!! You’ll have to let me know the next time you wander down the river……a meet-up would be grand!!!!!
