And let there be lights…………….

Fireworks and a parade kicked off another La Crosse (WI) Rotary Lights display at Riverside Park. The more than 3 million (yes! that’s right!) lights, a skating rink, live Santa (with his reindeer….also live!), area school and church choirs on site providing the perfect seasonal music, are just a few vignettes available. The northern end of the park boasts hundreds of lights choreographed to the up-tempo music of the Trans Siberian Orchestra.Roatary Lights   This magical setting is best experienced by a slow saunter on the winding pathways but, if that’s not possible, there’s several horse & carriages (replete with incredible blankets!) just waiting for festive passengers or remaining in your vehicle (some year’s have been warm enough for hardy motorcyclists!!!!) is another option and the drive through is amazing!

The photos are from the La Crosse Tribune photographers. Admission is free but Santa’s elves are at the entrance collecting food donations for the area’s food shelves/pantries.Image result for La Crosse wi rotary light photosImage result for La Crosse wi rotary light photosImage result for La Crosse wi rotary light photosRelated imageImage result for La Crosse wi rotary light photos  The lights will be on nightly (til 10:00pm, with the exception of Christmas Eve/Day) and must be experienced to fully appreciate the wonderland transformation of the park.

  1. Oh that looks so pretty! I think we need to take the kids to our local light show place this year.

We don’t have the snow cover that truly makes it a snow-globe type setting but, when dark, the lights make up for that lack! We’ll wait and check it out in a couple of weeks…..we’re sure to have snow by then!!!!

That looks incredible! Love the pic with the reflections in the water. We are going to start putting up our outside lights this weekend.

The temps are certainly cooperating (although the possibility of a T-storm Sunday eve is interesting!)………. That reflection shot is from Pettibone Park, across the Mississippi from Riverside Park/the light display.

Beautiful!! We kicked off our holiday season by going to see TSO- they have quite the light show (besides the music).

I’ve gone to several of their concerts, sitting in the front of the next level up from/over the stage (above the keyboardist) and almost felt singed by the finale torches!!!!!! Awesome production!!!!!

This is incredible. Nothing like it happened back when we were in college in LaCrosse! Of course that was just a FEW years ago – haha. Wish we were closer, we’d love to see this.
