“Elf” projects continue………

With these components…….IMG_7590    and “making” the fabric for the bags these will go into………………  IMG_7603 IMG_7601 In the second photo, you can just kinda catch the glisten of the beautiful variegated gold metallic (#025) thread by Superior……it’s really amazing!!! The first photo is a black/white picture, so not true color! The fabric is a very deep (“Amish”) black and doesn’t photograph at all well!!! Ugh!!!! I did use Hobbs Heirloom 80/20 (cotton/poly) batting in black for this as I have found that the white/unbleached doesn’t really “beard” through but does seem to have a light ‘dusting’ of white fuzz on the top surface after all my stitching. Nothing critical but a black batt does intensify the black fabric. More on this process later when I cut a few bags. NASCAR is done for the season so my Sunday afternoons are free for the machine!!!!

  5. The metallic thread is a beautiful touch. It adds something….not quite sure of the right word.

Ah! Feathers! Looks very attractive on the black. I know what you mean about black not photographing true to life.

Yes….too much intensity, I guess. We’ll see how this works out. I cut 2 one yard pieces, sandwiched them and am stitching it to cut it into pieces that will be very simple bags.
