You may need to continue with the beachy theme for the next several months, especially with in the minus degrees temps this morning.
Ya know…..I really wouldn’t mind those temps IF I didn’t have to leave my home!!!!!! LOL LOL LOL
Oh I love the seahorses! I don’t think I’ve ever seen that before – nice!
AND I so totally LUV your imaginative ability to see them!!!! Seriously, I use that hook/swirl quite a bit. It’s a nice, simple ‘fill’ for the larger squares….especially when I’ve done an “orange peel” curve around the perimeter.
I was practicing curved cross-hatching today. It was a little rough going at first. My FMQ tends to look better than ruler work!
Ruler work requires 100% focus to achieve any level of consistent success…that is what I’ve found for myself. Hand (pressure) coordination is ‘key’ with a sit-down long/mid arm. It does seem to get a wee bit better if I have need of it for a long period of time!!!!!
You are absolutely right about that – too much pressure actually slows down a long arm. The sandpaper bits help a lot!
Yes! the sandpaper ‘thing’ is awesome for any type of machine and ruler work!!!!
I saw something today on Bonnie Hunter’s Facebook page – Nexcare Surgical Tape on the back of rulers helps give that tack and it’s cheap! I think I’m going to pick some up the next time I’m at the store and see for myself.
Yup……I use 3M’s “Transpore” tape…..same thing. Works great and is transparent.
That’s great to hear! I had never heard of that but it makes sense.
Works well and it’s something that has multiple uses……including what is intended!!!!!!! LOL!!!!!!
Haha! Who woulda thought? It was 81 this morning and by tomorrow morning it’s supposed to be below freezing here!!!
MAJOR UGH!!!!! Our park mgr said the temp will be down to 40 shortly…..and they’ve been in the mid 80s!!!! Yikes!!!
Are you staying warm? Is the Subaru getting you around safely in all that snow?
This past weekend (in the midst of our storm) I attended all the events I had scheduled and had absolutely no problem with driving. The Subaru is one awesome vehicle!!!!!! BUT….the snow has cold with it and that’s where we part company!!!! LOL!!!!!! TX warmth coming soon!!!!!
We are COLD with almost no snow today, though we are getting a bit now, but only a bit. We may hit 30 tomorrow, that would a welcome relief. We did go out to get the tree, and it took awhile to warm up after, but a fire and some Lorie Line helped a bit. 😊
I’ll keep looking at your be beachy, warm pictures – our latest forecast is 10-14″. It keeps going up and the winter storm warning stays with us. Good weekend to quilt!
Oh no!!!!!! Ours was just “upgraded” and the amounts adjusted upwards, too. #2 son driving semi back from CA (southern route) coming through it now!!!!! Many prayers for all motorists!!!!!!
Ooo! Fun little details!!
Custom quilts allow for so much fun stitching!!!!!!
